Novak Djokovic was active and supportive of his wife Jelena during labor and delivery. The World No. 1 reportedly couldn't be separated from his significant other when she gave birth to their first bundle of joy.

Contrary to initial reports claiming that Jelena gave birth in Nice, France, she gave birth to Stefan at Princess Grace Hospital Centre in Monte Carlo on Oct. 21, Kurir-info.rs reports. Princess Grace Hospital Centre is close to where the couple resides. The Serbian news outlet has obtained exclusive snaps of the couple's stay at the hospital.

Novak and Jelena were spotted coming out of the elevator. It was after baby Stefan was born. Novak had his arms around Jelena's waist. Jelena, who appeared to still have a round and squishy midsection, was wearing a robe and a pair of glasses.

Currently, Novak is in Paris because he is playing at the BNP Paribas Masters. Seeded first in the tournament, Novak had advanced into the third round after a win over Philipp Kohlschreiber on Oct. 29.

The new dad won over Kohlschreiber in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4. It was Novak's sixth win over the 24th-ranked German. Novak converted three of his seven break-point chances to win in the match that lasted one hour and 25 minutes.

Djokovic told Sky Sports that it feels great to be playing as a father for the first time. He said that he tries to take advantage of the positive aura that he is feeling right now after the birth of his first born.

Novak said that he is proud to be a father and couldn't be more proud of Jelena for braving the racing waters for childbirth. According to him, Jelena is continuing her recovery with Stefan. "This was my first match as a father and it can only inspire me to play my best tennis," Novak said.

Novak is the defending champion in Paris. He beat David Ferrer of Spain in the Paris finals in 2013. He is on a quest to defend his title and protect his World No. 1 ranking, especially now that Roger Federer is breathing down on his neck after the Swiss' victory in Basel.
