The Nokia X2 was announced in June and the handset has recently been released in selected markets. The Nokia Lumia 530, meanwhile, is tipped for August release. Readers who are interested in the Nokia X2 or the Nokia Lumia 530 should check out this comparison.

Display, Exterior And Size

The Nokia X2 features a 4.3-inch IPS LCD display bundled with a screen resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. The Nokia Lumia 530, on the other hand, will reportedly feature a relatively lesser 4.0-inch TFT display with 480 x 854 pixels screen resolution. The pixel densities of the Nokia X2 and the Nokia Lumia 530 stand at 217 ppi and 245 ppi respectively.

When it comes to exterior, the sharp angular plastic edges of the predecessor Lumia 520 are altered to provide rounded corners in the upcoming Lumia 530. Apart from this minor difference, both the phones come with similar size and look, according to Tech Radar. The Nokia X2, on the other hand, boasts an improved display with the introduction of Nokia's ClearBlack polarization technology. This technology makes the outdoor viewing experience relatively better. As Anand Tech puts it, "It can make a mediocre display look OK, and a good display look great, at least in my experience." Furthermore, the Nokia X2's exterior is similar to the other Nokia X handsets. However, the X2 integrates a new translucent outer layer that makes the exterior look glossy.

The thickness and the weight of the Nokia Lumia 530 are 0.46-inch and 129 g respectively, whereas the Nokia X2 is 0.44-inch thick and weighs 150 g.

The Nokia Lumia 530, on the other hand, will be powered by a relatively better quad-core (Qualcomm Snapdragon 200) processor, clocked at 1.2 GHz. The Nokia X2 houses the 1 GB of RAM, while the Lumia 530 houses a meagre 512 MB of RAM. Also, the Nokia X2 runs on Android OS v4.3 Jelly Bean on top of Nokia X platform 2.0 UI, whereas the Nokia Lumia 530 will run on Windows Phone 8.1 OS.

Both the phones come with 4 GB of internal storage capacity and microSD card slot for expansion. However, the expansion limit of Nokia X2 and Lumia 530 stand at 32 GB and 128 GB respectively.

Camera And Battery

Both the handsets sport the same 5 MP rear-facing cameras. While the Nokia X2 features a LED flash, the Lumia 530 doesn't. Also, the X2 houses a VGA shooter in the front, whereas the Lumia 530 does not come with a secondary camera unit.

The Nokia X2 houses a Li-Ion 1800 mAh battery unit, while the Nokia Lumia 530 features a relatively inferior Li-Ion 1430 mAh battery unit.
