Nokia Lumia 930: Leaked Images Show Gold Version Of Windows Phone Handset, Microsoft To Release Special Edition Soon

Another Lumia device will be released in a gold version soon. The recently leaked images of the Nokia Lumia 930 showed the Windows Phone handset with a golden finish as part of Microsoft's special but limited edition plan.

Aside from the gold frame on the Nokia Lumia 930, the leaked images also showed that the Lumia 930 Golden Collector's Edition has a gold-plated Nokia logo on the rear of the device. Click HERE to see photos. According to a GSMArena report, the production line on the Nokia Lumia 930 gold version is currently fixed at 3000 units only.

The Lumia 930 Golden Collector's Edition price tag is reportedly set at CNY 2899 or around $470. A CNET report claims that Microsoft made the announcement on the special edition offer featuring the Nokia Lumia 830 and Nokia Lumia 930 with black or white backings on Thursday, Jan. 8.

As for the release date, the report revealed that the schedules are still staggered at the moment. The black version of the Nokia Lumia 930 Gold is scheduled to come out this week while the white version will arrive in late January.

The Nokia Lumia 830 Gold is expected to be released this coming February. The gold version of the Windows Phone handsets will go on retail in Europe, Asia Pacific, the Middle East and Africa with the several carriers around the world making their own price offer on Microsoft's special edition.

The Nokia Lumia 930, which was announced and released in 2014, has a 5-inch Full HD AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution, Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, ClearBlack display, a 2.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset, 2 GB of RAM, Adreno 330 GPU and Microsoft Windows Phone 8.1 OS. The other device features and specs include a 20 MP primary camera with PureView technology, Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and Carl Zeiss optics, a 1.2 MP secondary camera and 32 GB internal storage capacity.

However, there is no microSD card slot available for memory storage expansion. The Nokia Lumia 930 also has a 2420 mAh Li-Ion battery, Wi-Fi, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, microUSB 2.0, wireless charging feature and other available colour choices of bright orange, bright green, white and black.
