The much awaited Nokia Lumia 928 Windows Phone 8 will be exclusively available at Verzon beginning May 16. Nokia confirmed that the latest smart phone's color choices are black and white at a price of US$99 after the $50 worth of mail-in rebate with a two-year contract.

Consumers can acquire as well a $25 worth of credit for the Windows Phone apps and games on a limited time. According to The Wall Street Journal report, the Finnish company created the smart phone as part of the strategy to improve sales and face tough competition with rival companies like Apple and Samsung.

Nokia CEO Stephen Elop previously implied the appearance of the Nokia Lumia 928 during the company's Q1 financial results presentation. The Nokia CEO even assured that the smart phone's arrival will start the thread of launching new Nokia products like the May 14 London event where "the next chapter of the Lumia story" will unfold.

Verizon Wireless is a combined business enterprise between the Verizon Communications Inc. and the UK Vodafone Group PLC. Before granting the Nokia Lumia 928 availability at Verizon Wireless, Nokia previously offered their Lumia smart phone range at AT&T which is the second largest wireless carrier in the United States.

Nokia Lumia 928 with the Verizon branding is the enhanced version of the Nokia Lumia 920 with a lighter design at 162 grams compared to the 186 grams of the Lumia 920. Both smart phones feature a 4.5-inch screen display with a 1280x768p resolution, 8.7MP camera and the 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm processor.

However, Nokia Lumia 928 has the Xenon flash which Nokia Lumia 920 smart phone lacks.Nokia has been plugging the Lumia 928 camera in the past week with the smart phone's impressive capability to capture images and videos despite low-lighting conditions.

A video comparison was recently shared as well that shows the camera features of the Nokia Lumia 928 against the Samsung Galaxy S3 and Apple iPhone 5. "Even though comparisons posted by vendors should be taken with a pinch of salt, the camera has long been one of Nokia's strengths," stated Roberta Cozza, a research director at Gartner.

"It was surprising that Nokia didn't talk more about the Lumia 920's imaging capabilities when it was launched last year but the company seems to have learned from that mistake," Cozza further declared.
