Both Nokia Lumia 730 and Lumia 830 have recently been released in selected Asian markets. Readers who are interested in the budget-friendly and well-specced Nokia Lumia 730 or the Lumia 830 should check out this comparison.

Display, Exterior And Size

The Nokia Lumia 830 features a 5.0-inch IPS LCD display along with 720 x 1,280 pixels resolution and 294 ppi pixel density. The Lumia 730, on the other hand, comes with a 4.7-inch OLED display and 316 ppi pixel density; however, the resolution is same as the Lumia 830.

When it comes to design, the Lumia 730 looks like a replica of the predecessor Lumia 720 with polycarbonate chassis and angular corners. The handset comes with quality build and comfortable on the hands. The back panel is alterable with shiny and colourful shell choices, like many other Lumia devices. It is worth mentioning that the dedicated camera button on the side of the handset is not available anymore. Meaning, only the power and volume rockers populate the side, reports Know Your Mobile.

The Nokia Lumia 830, meanwhile, has not sidetracked from the standard Lumia design philosophy. Nonetheless, the form factor stands out with rugged metal band surrounding the smartphone providing a sleek look. Also, the metallic frame is solid and thereby provides rock-solid outer look to the device. In addition, the edges are almost flat and not curved. Speaking of size, the thickness and the weight of the Nokia Lumia 830 and the Lumia 730 are (0.33-inch and 150 g) and (0.34-inch and 130 g) respectively.

Hardware, Software And Memory

Under the hood, both the handsets are powered by the same quad-core (Qualcomm Snapdragon 400) Cortex-A7 processor clocked at 1.2 GHz, 1 GB of RAM and Microsoft Windows Phone 8.1 OS. As far as the memory goes, the Lumia 730 provides 8 GB of internal storage, whereas the Lumia 830 comes with 16 GB support. However, both the smartphones support microSD card for expansion up to 128 GB.

Camera And Battery

The Nokia Lumia 830 sports a killer 10 MP PureView primary camera complemented by the famous Carl Zeiss optics, OIS support and LED flash. The Lumia 730, on the other hand, sports a 6.7 MP rear-facing unit with LED flash and Carl Zeiss optics, but there is no OIS support. Known as the selfie phone, the Lumia 730 houses a killer 5 MP frontal camera for selfies, while the Lumia 830 settles for 0.9 MP unit. When it comes to battery, both the phones are backed by the same Li-Ion 2200 mAh battery unit. However, the difference comes in the form of battery life sustainability between both the devices.
