Nokia Lumia 520: Windows Phone Handset Price Drops To $29 Off-Contract

Microsoft currently offers the Nokia Lumia 520 Windows Phone handset with a price incredibly lower than before. The latest reports on the Nokia Lumia 520 claim that the interested consumers can get their hands on the smartphone at a price of $29 without a contract.

According to a Hot Hardware report, the Microsoft Store now sells the entry level Nokia Lumia 520 at $29 price off-contract after Amazon offered the Windows Phone handset at $39.99 price this summer. Additionally, the consumers can use the device with an existing AT&T service or with a prepaid SIM via GoPhone.

A Slash Gear report claims the customers will be paying one time only for the Nokia Lumia 520 unlike purchasing from a local wireless store where they will get a handset on-contract and make payments for the next couple of years. However, the tech report noted down that the Nokia Lumia 520 is the perfect choice when it comes to purchasing a point-and-shoot camera.

The dedicated camera shutter button will allow the handset owners to hold down and wait for the app to start before capturing images with great ease. The photos can be uploaded automatically or the Nokia Lumia 520 will be connected to a computer through a USB cord.

The Nokia Lumia 520, which was released back in April 2013, comes with a 4-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display, 800 x 480 pixel resolution, scratch-resistant glass protection, a 1 GHz dual-core Qualcomm processor, 512 MB of RAM, Microsoft Windows Phone 8 operating system that can be upgraded to version 8.1 and Adreno 305 GPU.

Other smartphone features and specs include a 5MP rear-facing camera, 8 GB internal storage capacity, a microSD card slot available to expand memory storage of up to 64 GB, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0, microUSB v2.0, 15 GB free OneDrive storage and a 1430 mAh Li-Ion battery with stand-by up to 360 h on 3G, music play up to 61 h and talk time up to 14 h on 2G while up to 9 h on 3G. For the consumers who wish to purchase the Nokia Lumia 520, the available colours to choose from are yellow, red, cyan, white and black.
