Nokia Lumia 520 was officially launched in Australia as part of the Finnish company's plan to offer a Windows Phone with every price point possible. This April, Nokia Lumia 520 will be put up for sale in different Australian retail stores with an affordable price.

Consumers can purchase the unlocked Nokia Lumia 520 in black and yellow colors with the optional snap-on covers at Allphones, Dick Smith, Harvey Norman and JB Hi-Fi with the price of $229. Telstra will offer the Nokia smart phone as a prepaid device at a much lower price of $179 on April 30.

"This launch marks another important step for Nokia in delivering Lumia smart phones at every price point to appeal to the widest audience possible," Nokia Australia managing director Steve Lewis stated.

To attract the device consumers, Steve Lewis further declared that the Nokia Lumia 520 is the most affordable smart phone ever launched in Australia. "It will appeal to consumers who are looking to upgrade to a smart phone and want all the benefits without the high price tag, as well as organizations wanting to equip their fleet with the best business phone," the managing director explained.

Nokia Lumia 520 may have moderate features and specifications with the low pricing scheme but the smart phone is still expected to provide superior user experience. The Windows Phone 8 device has a 4-inch WVGA screen with 800x480p resolution, a 1GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor and 512MB of RAM.

The 1430mAh battery powers the Nokia Lumia 520 smart phone allowing the users to experience the 5MP camera features plus the HERE navigation suite of applications available. The 8GB internal storage capacity can be expanded with the microSD card slot. A downside on the Nokia Lumia 520 is the inability to make the most benefit out of the 4G network speeds.
