Nokia 150 launch: Specs, price and release date revealed
Nokia is officially back. HMD Global, the enterprise that now owns Nokia’s commercial licences for the next 10 years, has announced the first phone the new partnership is set to release. The new handset is called Nokia 150, and it’s a good old-fashioned feature phone.
The launch of the Nokia 150 comes just weeks following HMD Global’s acquisition of Nokia. The new tandem plans to introduce new smartphones globally and continue releasing feature phones in existing markets. The Nokia 150 is another addition to an already well-known and well-received Nokia feature phone line-up that includes the Nokia 105, Nokia 216 and Nokia 230.

The Nokia 150 features a 2.4-inch QVGA display with a 240 x 320 resolution and the usual user interface that most Nokia users have grown accustomed to. The new handset equips “hard-wearing polycarbonate shells and scratch-resistant colour” for durability. The Nokia 150 also has a dual SIM variant.
Nokia’s new phone comes with built-in FM radio, MP3 player and Bluetooth 3.0 with SLAM. Just like the feature phones before it, the Nokia 150 has excellent battery life, allowing up to 22 hours of talk time and 31 days of standby time for the regular model. The dual SIM variant has a standby time of 25 days.
The Nokia 150 is furnished with a torchlight, VGA camera with flash and an external microSD memory slot that is expandable up to 32 GB. The whole phone runs on Nokia’s own Series 30+ operating system. It comes with pre-installed games including the classic Snake Xenzia. The box comes with a micro-USB charger and a headset.
The Nokia 150 comes in two colours: black and white. The new handset retails for only US$26 (AU$35) before local taxes and subsidies. The Nokia 150 is set for a 2017 first quarter release in the Asia Pacific, India, the Middle East, Africa and Europe.
