Even in the aftermath of the 2014 Black Friday rush, Apple fans are more likely to take home the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus as shipments of the devices are set to significantly increase in time for the Christmas season.

Thanks to Pegatron, both models of the iPhone 6 will become readily available despite Apple's earlier admission that incredible demand for the current flagships are giving the company a hard time in keeping up.

Ramped up production

And in accordance to an earlier statement by Apple CEO Tim Cook that ramped up mass production of the device is already underway to keep the supplies flowing in especially during this year's holiday season, a new report from Asia is indicating that the iPhone has just expanded its supply chain.

The latest move will directly impact on the iPhone 6 Plus as Asian publication Nikkei reported that Pegatron will join Foxconn in assembling the jumbo-sized Apple phablet. Prior to the report, it was widely believed that Pegatron was tasked by Apple to produce the iPhone 5S/5C, now marketed as the company's budget handsets, and a portion of the tech giant's regular iPhone 6 orders.

It is understood that Pegatron will soon assemble the 5.5-inch 6 Plus because "Foxconn has been struggling to cope with demand."

"Local press reports suggest Apple may also tap Pegatron to produce the iPhone 6 Plus," said the Nikkei report.

It appeared too that Pegatron's fresh iPhone 6 Plus contract is backed by the manufacturing company's recent announcement of capital expenditures that total to $500 million to fund production boosts in the years 2014 and 2015.

According to MacRumors, Pegatron chief executive Jason Cheng confirmed both the development and the numbers.

No supply shortage

With Pegatron coming to the picture, the news is somehow giving assurance that buyers of both the iPhone 6 and 6 plus will easily find the model of their choice amidst the expected shopping rush that will kick off on Black Friday that falls on November 28 this year.

By the end of Christmas 2014, Apple is expected to sell between 60 and 80 million units of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, which is highly likely as according to 9to5Mac, the global iPhone 6 release date will have rolled out to 115 countries at around that time.
