Touted as "flagship killer," the OnePlus One's complicated invite-only purchase model has been put to rest "temporarily" for the Christmas holiday sale 2014. Notably, the issues surrounding the invite-only model made OnePlus One unavailable to many interested buyers. But then, the unique selling point of this device is the nominal price-tag. Also, it is worth mentioning that, the 16 GB model in Silk White hue and the 64 GB variant in Sandstone Black are both available without invites. The One's 16 GB model can be purchased for only $299, whereas the 64 GB model will set the buyers back by $349. At this price range, one would expect a mid-range device; however, this handset is packed with high-end features.

Reportedly, OnePlus announced recently that customers will be able to purchase the One without an invite until Dec. 25. Adding a cherry on top, the company has promised to ship the ordered devices prior to Christmas Day 2014, notes Android Central. Potential buyers should note that, the handset can be availed only until the stocks last. In case, readers have been waiting for this moment, head to OnePlus's official website to place an order.

As far as the key specifications go, the OnePlus One features a whopping 5.5-inch LTPS LCD display, complemented by a fitting resolution of 1,080 x 1,920 pixels. This display combination translates to an impressive 401 ppi pixel density. Under the hood, the handset is powered by a quad-core (Qualcomm Snapdragon 801) Krait 400 processor, clocked at 2.5 GHz and backed by a killer 3 GB of RAM. The handset runs on a forked version of Android v4.4.2 KitKat OS, along with CyanogenMod 11S. Nonetheless, the One can be upgraded to v4.4.4 KitKat. As mentioned earlier, the handset comes equipped with 16 GB or 64 GB of built-in storage with no microSD card slot for further expansion.

Moving on to the camera configuration, there is a solid 13 MP rear-facing sensor with dual-LED flash and a surprisingly good 5 MP snapper at the front. Plus, the handset is backed by an astounding 3,100 mAh battery unit. Lastly, aside from the standard connectivity option, the One also supports NFC and 4G LTE, staying true to the name "flagship killer."
