Cristiane "Cyborg Justino" is giving up her dream fight with Ronda Rousey after deciding not to chase the weight drop at 135 lbs. or the bantamweight division. Instead, the reigning Invicta FC champion will stay at the featherweight division and will not jump to the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) stable.

"I can't. From now on, I will only fight at my weight or in a catchweight. I haven't fought in a long time and that's why I want to go back to my division," Justino revealed to Tatame. "I realized I'm the only one making an effort for this fight to happen. I believe both should make an effort."

The Brazilian fighter was putting the effort to make the 135 lbs. weight and was scheduled to make her debut in the new weight class last Dec. 10 only to be sidelined by a serious torn anterior talofibular ligament in her left ankle while training in November. The reigning Invicta featherweight division title holder chose to forego surgery in order to catch Rousey in the summer but all hope for the super fight appears lost as Justino has closed the doors on going down 10 pounds. She has also offered to fight Rousey at a catchweight of 140 lbs. but the Hollywood star has not relented to the challenge.

While Rousey has been vocal about her willingness to face the contender, she has been critical of her history of performance-enhancing with drug use, even pointing out to the fact that it is the main reason why Justino is finding it hard to drop down in weight. The development will certainly add fuel to the racy comments of Rousey who even went as far as saying that Justino should be charged with negligent attempted homicide for stepping into fighting rings with PEDs.

The condition of Justino for both women fighters to meet in the middle is expected to be received with a cold shoulder by Rousey given that several other fighters are lining up to challenge her. The undefeated women's UFC bantamweight champion is set to defend her title against Cat Zingano on Feb. 28 at Staples Centre, Los Angeles and from there, a lot of prospects are waiting on the sidelines. Miesha Tate is hungry for a third crack at Rousey while several others such as Bethe Correia, the self-proclaimed Horsewoman slayer and boxing champion Holly Holm are just some of the long list of prospective fighters willing to dethrone the queen of the Octagon.
