Two teams, the Philadelphia Eagles and Chicago Bears, were reportedly very active before the start of the 2015 NFL Draft targeting the No. 2 pick presumably to be used on top quarterback prospect in Marcus Mariota, who was eventually selected by the Tennessee Titans.

Paul Kuharsky, a beat writer for the Titans for ESPN.com, reported the news on Thursday on Twitter.

In a separate report, Ian Rapoport of NFL.com, said that Philadelphia had offered a combination of picks, multiple key players for Mariota.

In the past, top draft picks deals included a Washington Redskins’ deal for the No. 2 pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, when they selected Robert Griffin III in exchange for three first-round picks and a second-round pick that season. The Titans picked Mariota as the second overall pick after Jameis Winston went first overall to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Bears reportedly tried to ship veteran QB Jay Cutler but the Titans were not interested with the Chicago’s offer. The Eagles were aggressive in the pursuit of Mariota that there were reports that Philadelphia also tried to work out deals with the Buccaneers. Both Tampa Bay and Tennessee did not budge on any Eagles’ offers and will start the new season with the top rookie quarterbacks in the draft.
