Tim Tebow fans can be assured that he is more than just a “camp arm” within the Philadelphia Eagles organisation as stated by head coach Chip Kelly. Tebow, who has had an underwhelming career in the National Football League, or NFL, is looking to play once again in the league and was signed by the Eagles in the offseason.

"No, I think everybody here that we bring to our organization is here to compete for a job," Kelly said to NFL.com. "That's what Timmy is going to do. He's an unbelievable competitor. ... If we were just going to have guys throw drills, we'd take (Mike) Mayock in the offseason and bring him down here and let him throw to them."

Kelly’s statement disputed that of Eagles back-up quarterback Mark Sanchez who stated recently that Tebow’s signing and presence in the camp was because their primary QB, Sam Bradford, is currently injured.

"He's obviously a great guy, he works hard," Sanchez said to CSN Philadelphia in late April. "And we needed another guy to throw while Sam's still recovering. So that's the reason, at least as explained to me. We're excited about the upcoming year and I think we have a great group."

Tebow and Sanchez were teammates when both were with the New York Jets in 2012. Sanchez was released by the Jets in 2014 and he signed with the Eagles a few months later. Tebow was released by the Jets in 2013 and has not found a team in the NFL except for a brief stint with the New England Patriots as a member of the preseason squad. Out of the league, Tebow has worked with ESPN as a college football analyst.

Tebow, who signed a one-year contract with the Eagles in April 2015, has since worked on his passing mechanics and has reportedly improved as a passing QB. The Eagles and Kelly are expected to give Tebow a chance at the winning the position against both Bradford and Sanchez.
