The Seattle Seahawks are set to improve depth in their defensive line after signing Ahtyba Rubin. Off another Super Bowl appearance, the Seahawks wanted to fill a void in their defensive line as they are expected to lose free agent Kevin Williams in this offseason of the National Football League, or NFL.

NFL Insider Ian Rapoport was one of the first to update the possible Seattle-Rubin deal on Twitter and the reporter also added that the Seahawks are looking at defensive player Anthony Smith as another possible signing in the offseason.

Rubin has played for the Cleveland Browns in all of his seven seasons in the NFL after being drafted in the sixth round by the Cleveland franchise in 2008. According to NFL analysts at NFL.com, Rubin is better suited to play in the 4-3 defensive scheme in Seattle rather than the 3-4 defensive formation in Cleveland and he is expected to up his numbers with the defending NFC champions.

For his career, Rubin is credited 338 tackles, 12 quarterback sacks, 3 forced fumbles and 1 interception.
