Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo left in the third quarter because of an injury in their game versus the Washington Redskins on the National Football League (NFL) Monday Night Football (MNF) and it proved crucial as the Redskins played a good second half in the second half and carried a 17-10 lead in the final quarter.

Dallas' back-up QB Brandon Weeden stepped up in place of Romo and helped in tying the game at 17-17 with a pass to Jason Witten with under 10 minutes to go in the payoff period. Romo returned to the field with two minutes to go in the game but couldn't get the Cowboys to the endzone as the game went into overtime with the same score.

Washington took advantage and scored a field goal first in overtime and stopped Dallas' run in their final drive. Redskins pulled of the upset over the Cowboys, 20-17 on Monday night to gain their first back-to-back wins of the season after a four-game losing streak from Week 2 to Week 5.

Colt McCoy finished with no touchdowns and 1 interception but played enough with 299 passing yards on 25-of-30 completions. DeSean Jackson had 136 yards on 6 receptions while Alfred Morris rushed for 73 yards on 18 carries.

With the OT loss, the Cowboys' six-game winning streak is snapped but remain among the best teams in the league record-wise at 6-2. Washington improved to 3-5 for the season.

Romo's injury appeared non-serious after he returned to action in the game but he was initially seen wincing in pain when the trainers evaluated him on field during the injury in the third quarter.
