The HTC Nexus 9 tablet that was launched in 2014 is no longer available on Google Store. Rumours have it that Google is working Huawei to release a 7-inch tablet.

Even though the Google Nexus 9 came with solid specs, it did not impress the audience. It was not well-regarded as previous Nexus tablets such as Nexus 7 (2012), Nexus 7 (2013), and Nexus 10 (2012). From April 26, the official page of HTC Nexus 9 has been removed and it now redirects to Nexus 6P, Android Police reported.

Usually, when a device is to be removed, retailers usually show “product unavailable” notification for few weeks. However, the Nexus 9 has disappeared without a trace. The tablet cannot be found in the search results of the Google Store. The Nexus 9 is still available on HTC’s website as well as with other retailers.

The rumour mill has claimed that since the Huawei has trademarked the “Huawei 7P” moniker, the company may be collaborating with Google to launch a 7-inch tablet. Currently, there is no other information available on 7-inch tablet form Huawei. Speculations suggest that it may get announced at the upcoming Google I/O 2016 event that will held next month, Phone Arena reported.

The Nexus 9 was released alongside the Nexus 6 by Motorola in October 2014. Both the devices were launched with Android 5.0 Lollipop OS onboard.

The Nexus 9 features an 8.9-inch IPS LCD screen that offers a resolution of 1536 x 2048 pixels. It is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The tablet is powered by Tegra K1 chipset by Nvidia. It features a dual-core processor that clocks at 2.3 GHz and 2 GB of RAM.

Its native storage is 16 GB. There is no microSD slot on the device. It features an 8 MP camera on its rear side whereas the front houses a 1.6 MP camera. It is equipped with stereo speakers and is packed with a massive battery of 6700 mAh capacity.
