The giant company announced the latest addition in its device category: the Nexus 6 and the Nexus 9 tablet. Google has launched the devices through a blog post. This means that spectators and analysts didn't quite have the actual physical feel of the said devices.

Bigger and Pricier?

According to reviews, the Nexus 6 owns a display half an inch bigger than Apple's smartphone. At first glance, you would think it's a whale of a device but when you go hands-on, you would forget that idea. If you didn't find any trouble using the iPhone 6 Plus, then using this latest from Google will be a breeze.

Nexus 6 has great similarities with the Moto X, an oversized Moto X that is because both have metal edges and a hard plastic back, which gives you that sturdy feel. Just like the Moto X, it has a slightly curved back but not too sharp, which adds a little more thickness. Apparently, it only is a bit of a hassle when placed in your pocket but not in your hand.

At a starting price of $649, Google gears away from the usual more affordable line. The move to come up with a more expensive version suggests the big leap of the product in terms of upgrade and maturity. Nexus 6 aims to capture the mainstream attention, CNET reports.

The more expensive Nexus 6 is facing a stiff competition against Apple and Samsung. This giant smartphone, which actually falls under the phablet category, go against iPhone 6 Plus, which starts at $749 unlocked or at $299 with a 2-year contract. On the other hand, Samsung Galaxy Note 4 costs $700 unlocked or at 300 with a contract.

Still on its aesthetics, the device showcases a high-end, topnotch smartphone look. Nexus 6 definitely made sure to compete with iPhone 6's beauty. Aside from the reviews on the look of this new launch, the new features of this device have also been put to test.

With Android 5.0 Lollipop as its platform, it results to smoother multitasking and cleverer notifications. Another feature to boast: it enables users to transfer data from an old phone to the new using NFC and Bluetooth. Turbo Charging is another big improvement from the Nexus 6. This upgrade allows an almost drained battery back up to another 6 hours of life if charged in an increasingly high voltage in for just 15 minutes, BGR reviews.

To summarize, Nexus 6 boasts with a 5.96inch QHD display, powered by Snapdragon 805 quad processor paired with a 3GB RAM, has a 32GB/64GB storage options, a 13 megapixel rear camera with OIS, 2megapixel front-facing camera and a 3,220mAh battery. With all these, it would still be up to the consumers to decide if the price increase is worth their money.
