Google has taken the first steps to meet a European ruling that citizens can have objectionable links removed from Internet search results, a ruling that pleased privacy campaigners but raised fears that the right can be abused to hide negative information. Weeks before the rumoured release dates for Google's Nexus 6 and Nexus 9, Android fans are again treated to exciting new details about the device that suggests too of imminent unboxing to come.

Three new things actually popped out in the past few days and the information appear to practically confirm the inevitable touchdown of the pure Android challengers to Apple's iPhone 6 and 2014 iPad refresh, which presumably is the second generation iPad Air.

Monster Nexus 6

First in the smartphone tussle between Google and Apple, as it is quite evident that the latter has a blockbuster device in the making the former is making efforts to put out an equally interesting and capable handset in the Nexus 6.

And if the latest Geekbench data is to believed, once the Nexus 5 replacement is out in the real world it will easily overwhelm the competitors, almost at least. According to Phone Arena, the Geekbench charts showed that the Nexus 6 is a runaway winner when pitted against its hero rivals that include the Samsung Galaxy S5 and the iPhone 6.

Specifically, the next Nexus 6 soared high in the multiple-core dogfight with its beastly Geekbench score of 3199.

The device, however, only managed to secure the third spot in the single-core category as it was outmuscled by the iPhone 6 and iPhone 5S respectively. While the 1040 score is only the third-best in the distinguished pack, the numbers clearly indicate that Nexus fans can look forward on owning the best Google signature phone so far that too has the chops to squarely slug it out with the current Apple flagship phone.

Midsized Nexus slate

As for the Internet search giant's lone candidate to take on Apple's iPad duo, a leaked image courtesy of @UpLeaks appear to confirm many things about the device that in early reports have been identified as the Nexus 8.

The Twitter status affirmed that the tablet is proudly branded as the HTC Nexus 9, also showing that HTC will deliver the kit in a midrange profile to battle with the 9.7-inch iPad Air 2 and the 7.9-inch iPad Mini 3.

But the fresh revelation about the device is its body finish that according to @UpLeaks is quite far with the earlier chatter that it has a casing that is HTC One-inspired - metal and unibody design.

"T1 (HTC Nexus 9) will NOT have a metal body, it's matte plastic like Nexus 5 by LG ... but it has Nexus logo," said the @UpLeaks tweet.

And to go with the teaser is the reported submission of the Nexus 9 before Taiwan's telecommunication authorities, according to a report by G4Games. This development somehow hinted that the gadget has clear another hurdle that paves the way for its nearing commercial debut.

The actual release date for the Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 is said to happen in the immediate weeks or even days after Google's grand introduction of Android L or 5.0 on October 16, likely positioning the devices for a live Play Store launch this Halloween 2014.
