It’s now a known fact that, the disappointing response received by the flagship HTC One M9 has forced the company to unveil the power-packed mid-range device “HTC One A9.” The new handset flaunts a note-worthy design and cutting-edge configurations on board.

The LG Nexus 5X, on the other hand, has recently been released in Australia. Both the handsets run Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS and come with fingerprint scanner. Here is a comparison of the the key specs, exterior design and price of the devices mentioned above.

LG Nexus 5X vs. HTC One A9: Price

According to Australian Network News , the HTC One A9 release date has been set for the first week of November. As of today, interested Australian readers can sign-up for the device in the official Website, so that HTC can notify the moment the handset becomes available in the country.

The HTC One A9 price specific to the 32 GB variant is reportedly $399.99 (i.e. AU$563). This price is limited to the promotional period in the U.S. After which, the device will cost $100 more. The LG Nexus 5X’s 32 GB model, on the other hand, can be availed from JB Hi-Fi for AU$739, CNET reported.

Google’s Nexus 5X features a 5.2-inch screen, whereas HTC’s One A9 settles for a 5.0-inch display. Both the handsets come with the same 1,920 x 1,080 pixels Full HD resolution. These display combinations translate to 400+ ppi, providing impressive viewing experience.

Speaking of design, reviewers across the globe say, HTC’s latest offering is an Apple iPhone 6s-lookalike. The handset flaunts the traditional full-metal unibody chassis and Gorilla Glass 4 protection, according to GSM Arena. The thickness and weight of the A9 is 7.3 mm and 143 g, respectively.

Moving on to the Nexus 5X, LG has apparently used the tried and tested polycarbonate chassis and Gorilla Glass 3 protection. But then, a metal frame reportedly runs along the corners of the device, giving it the much-appreciated premium look, Tech Radar reported. This phone is 7.9 mm thick and it weighs only 136 g.

While the Nexus 5X comes powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 SoC, the HTC One A9 utilizes a Snapdragon 617 chipset. As mentioned earlier, both the phones come pre-installed with Android Marshmallow.

Speaking of memory configuration, both OEMs provide 16 GB and 32 GB native storage choices. To top it off, the HTC handset can expand up to 2 TB via the microSD card slot. The Nexus 5X, on the other hand, does not feature a microSD slot.

Furthermore, a 2 GB RAM has been housed in both the handsets. But then, the 32 GB variant of the HTC One A9 comes backed by 3 GB of RAM. Thus, HTC gives the choice of choosing RAM and memory combination to the buyer.

The Nexus 5X sports a 12.3 MP rear-facing camera unit and a dual LED flash, in addition to a 5 MP selfie clicker. The HTC One A9, meanwhile, features a 13 MP main sensor with dual LED flash and OIS support. Plus, the front-facing snapper is a 4 MP UltraPixel unit.

When it comes to battery capacity, the HTC handset comes equipped with a non-removable 2,150 mAh unit, whereas the Google device houses a much-better 2,700 mAh non-removable cell. Readers should note that, the A9 supports rapid charging feature with the help of Quick Charge v2.0 technology, whereas the Nexus 5X doesn’t. Lastly, the Nexus device comes with the helpful USB Type-C port, while the HTC handset doesn’t.
