The Pandroid Android team recently announced their latest feature called "Halo" that handles notifications for the Nexus 4, Nexus 7, Nexus 7 3G, GSM Galaxy Nexus and Oppo Find 5 devices. The Halo feature is still in the early stages so issues are expected to occur from using the alpha software like bugs and crashes.

According to the Pandroid Android team, they have broken down the integration of the Halo feature in three phases. The first phase is rewriting the framework, the second phase is allowing Halo to perform its basic functions and the third phase is directly permitting the notification-switching through the Halo interface.

The first phase has reportedly been completed and the second phase is claimed to be already halfway finished. Once the second phase has been completed, the third phase will begin.

Halo has been drawn from the Facebook Chat Heads feature found in the Messenger app. Similar to the Chat Heads feature, Halo displays a small circle on the screen with the preview on the available applications once the device is switched on.

The app's full version will become visible in a small pop-out window once it is opened with the entire functionality found in this tiny window. Whether the device users are playing a game, watching a video or just browsing the internet, they can still open up the Halo feature.

Currently, some of Pandroid Android's early test builds on the Halo feature can be downloaded. Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 owners who wish to try and experience the new feature despite its current status, the build and GApp download links are available at this link: https://plus.google.com/107979589566958860409/posts/GBEb9E3ek6H

Additionally, Halo reportedly works with just about any application which makes the new feature a pretty impressive one.
