Nexus users can now access a new firmware from the Paranoid Android team. The team launched the PA 4.6 Beta 1 in the start of September. Previously, the team issues a new update every week. However, the new Beta 2 upgrade was released three weeks following the Beta 1. The new Paranoid software promises people a new improved user experience.

According to Android Geeks, the PA team announced previously that they will be incorporating Android L visual components to their builds. This came after Google introduced the Android L during its I/O conference. Initially, the Paranoid Android 4.5 offered the new card-based Android L recent screens. As for the Paranoid 4.6, it featured the Android L-specific Dynamic Status Bar. According to the official blog of the PA team, changelog for the 4.6 Beta 2 software is as follows:

Clean up DSB animations

Reduce DSB screen polling

Correctly update the lock screen track information

Improve the general graphical performance

Update the OPO drivers and add other minor improvements

Follow CM's changes for TE

Add USB OTG support for Flo (Nexus 7 - 2013)

The team also clarified that they took a break from the usual actual releases. For the current release, the PA group has cleaned the DSB with other fixes included. The program will have to see additional improvements particularly for lower end devices. Nonetheless, people can expect some considerable changes including more stable and fluid animations. The features may still exhaust the battery life more than preferred but the team promises battery usage to be more conservative than before. The 4.6 Beta build is available for devices such as the Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 7 and the Nexus 10.

Google will reportedly be releasing the refreshed versions of its Nexus smartphone and tablet line. It will also be launching the Android L platform with the devices in a move to offer a truer and more unified mobile OS approach.
