The release of the Android 5.0 Lollipo ushers in new downloads including from third party providers. The recent release is from Chainfire with the announcement confirming new roots for 6 newer Nexus devices including the latest Nexus 9. Other support devices include the Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 7 (2012), Nexus 7 (2013) and the Nexus 10. Likewise Google also confirms the official rollout of the Lollipop update to its Nexus 4.

Chainfire's announcement came via his Google+ page. According to the post, his CF Auto Root files received updates making them compatible for the Nexus devices listed earlier. For users who wish to access and work with the new root method, they will need Fastboot instead of flashable recovery zips. It may also be a requirement to use n OEM bootloader unlock tool to access the bootloader of the device.

Once the people access the Fastboot successfully, they should be able to load the special boot image for SuperUser installation. Some of the changes included in the release include:

-new CFAR editions feature embedded SuperSU ZIP.

-another variant features a ZIp that can patch the presen kernel to access and run the SuperSU under boot

-latest CFARs feature SuperSU v2.20 exclusive to the release

It is best for users to understand how to root Android devices properly. Failure to follow the right steps can lead to a problematic device. Google has released the over-the-air Android 5.0 Lollipop to Nexus 4. The device received the update later than the rest of the Nexus lineup. OTA release is based on the build number LRX21T. For those who have not received the notification, they can check for updates manually. To do this, go to Settings> scroll down > About Phone > System Updates then tap "Check Now."

Following the release of the OS update, Nexus 5, Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 users have expressed encountering issues such as video playback, missing player including Wi-Fi and mobile connectivity. Google has not yet provided additional details about the matter.
