New Zealand’s No. 1 ranked heavyweight boxer Joseph Parker has a scheduled bout at the Faleata Sports Complex in Apia, Samoa in early 2016 against a still unnamed opponent but already the interest in the bout is rising.

"It won't be a windfall for us. To break even would be great but I think it's the right thing to do. Certainly Joseph Parker will love it and I think the nation of Samoa deserves it," boxing promoter David Higgins said via 3News.

The 23-year-old Kiwi is coming off a third round knockout victory of Australian veteran Kali Meehan, who was ranked the second best heavyweight boxer in Australia, earlier this month.

Parker, who improved to 16-0 with 14 knockouts, remained undefeated in his boxing career and now holds multiple heavyweight belts in various boxing governing bodies, including the World Boxing Organization Oriental, World Boxing Association Oceania championships, among others.

Parker, who resides and trains in Las Vegas, Nevada in the United States, also stated that he’s excited for the fight in Samoa.

"I love the [Rumble in Paradise] name. It is paradise and we sort of compared it to the rumble in the jungle, it's got a nice sound to it," Parker added in the article.

Before the bout in Samoa, Parker is scheduled to fight at the Claudelands Arena in Hamilton, New Zealand against another unknown opponent.

The knockout of Meehan was the fifth straight fight via KO for Parker, who beat Bowie Tupou (first round knockout), Yakup Saglam (second round knockout), Jason Pettaway (fourth round knockout) and Irineu Beato Costa Junior (fourth round knockout).
