Samsung is getting ready to release an affordable handset named the Galaxy J1, tied to the model SM-J100. Even though the device has not been officially announced so far, leaked images of the Samsung Galaxy J1 have surfaced.

Sam Mobile was able to get the leaked set of images of the upcoming budget-friendly handset. From the outer look of the handset, the Galaxy J1 looks very much similar to older Galaxy models. However, the unique selling point of this device is the processor. Even though, the handset is a low-end device, it is powered by a relatively superior 64-bit processor. To be specific, the device uses a quad-core (Marvell PXA1908) processor, clocked at 1.2 GHz, notes Phone Arena.

As far as the key Samsung Galaxy J1 specifications go, the device reportedly comes with a pocket-friendly 4.3-inch WVGA display, bundled with 480 x 800 pixels resolution. On the software end, the handset runs on Android v4.4 KitKat OS at launch. With respect to the camera configuration, the handset reportedly sports a 5 MP rear-facing camera unit, in addition to a 2 MP front-facing shooter. Moreover, the handset comes backed by 1 GB of RAM. When it comes to memory specification, the device comes equipped with 4 GB of internal storage capacity and microSD card support for further expansion.

Moreover, the whole configuration is held together and kept powered-on by a respectable 1,850 mAh battery unit. Adding a cherry on top, the Samsung Galaxy J1 will reportedly come packed with helpful feature like Ultra Power Saving mode, seen in high-end Galaxy handsets. Notably, this smartphone will come in LTE, as well as non-LTE formats. Plus, the device will also come as single-SIM and dual-SIM variants. Overall, the J1 will reportedly come as four variants with a variety of combination namely single-SIM with 4G LTE, dual-SIM with 4G LTE, single-SIM with 3G, and dual-SIM with 3G. But then, the 3G variants will reportedly sport a VGA front-facing snapper, instead of the 2 MP unit mentioned above.

Speaking of release date, Samsung is expected to officially launch the Galaxy J1 on Jan. 14, 2015, according to Sam Mobile. Also, Phone Arena opines that, the target customers for this handset could be the emerging markets. Interested readers can check out the killer images of the Samsung Galaxy J1 from Sam Mobile.
