The game formerly known as “Mevius Final Fantasy” continues to build momentum before its release in Japan. “Final Fantasy” publisher Square Enix has released a new “Mobius Final Fantasy” trailer that showcases the many character jobs that lead character Wol can choose from for the various battles in the game as well as some new characters he will encounter in his journey to save the world.

One of the new main characters shown is a man in full armour named Garland, according to Siliconera. It’s currently unknown as to what role he will play in the story, but considering how much detail was put into his armour, it’s doubtful that he’s a throw away character.

Another character introduced was a female fairy named Eco. Unlike Navi from the “Legend of Zelda” series, Eco actually has a form similar to a human. It also appears that Eco will be a companion of sorts to protagonist Wol, as the trailer shows her healing the warrior during a seemingly tough battle.

The job system showcased in the trailer reveals that there will be a nice amount of variety in the attires Wol wears, along with the weapons and skills the protagonist can learn. Pocket Gamer stated that players can choose if they want Wol to be a Ranger, a Thief, a Hunter, a Knight, a Dark Knight, a White Mage or a Warrior.

Each character class will play differently from one another, with the speedy Thief being able to use two knives and the Dark Knight being able to summon giant purple swords as examples. Sadly, the Dark Knight job will not come with batarangs, nor will Robin, Alfred or Batgirl replace Echo as an assist character.

“Mobius Final Fantasy” is coming to Japanese online stores this spring for both Android and iOS devices. There are still no plans to bring the title to the West, which could be considered a shame, considering how great the game looks. Then again, if “Final Fantasy Record Keeper” managed to make it to the West, then it could only be a matter of time.
