With the latest racer in the popular racing franchise coming to mobile platforms many pondered on whether it will be a full-priced game or if it will use the popular free to play system made popular by other mobile games. The pondering is now over as EA has announced that "Need For Speed: No Limits" will be free to play.

This has raised concerns amongst some fans, particularly Touch Arcade who are all too familiar with the supposed free to play mode of payment. Though other games have been rather fair with their free to play like "Plants vs Zombies 2" or "Injustice: Gods Among Us" it's clear that these are the exception rather than the norm.

EA has been guilty for having ridiculously harsh free-to-play games like the critically panned remake of "Dungeon Keeper" amongst others. Still they could be turning over a new leaf as one of their more recent releases "Sim City BuildIt" has a relatively fair free to play system.

"No Limits" will be a mobile exclusive with a new console "Need for Speed" game coming in the near future, according to Gamespot. Though no release date has been announced the trailer did say that it is "coming soon." This looks to be a full-fledged "Need for Speed" game rather than a stripped apart one like certain console to mobile ports as players will be able to participate in many street races and wild chases against the police.

Australia based studio Fire Monkeys are the main developers of the game and have also released the visually stunning "Real Racing 3" for IOS devices. "Real Racing 3" was also free to play, but that game was not under EA, so it remains to be seen how the free to play model will turn out.

Concrete details for the game are still unknown like the number of cars available and the paint and customisation options that will be presented to players, but the slick trailer does present about four different cars and maybe even more once the game is released. EA has stated that this game was built from the ground up and will redefine how street racers will be played in mobile devices from now on. "Need for Speed: No Limits" will be available for IOS and Android devices.
