The new iPhone will be cheap, hence it will be launched as iPhone 5C, rumours say. Apple and its products make an abundant fodder for rumours and speculations because of its huge following. This new phone rumour could be nothing more than wishful thinking, though. But if it's legit, the Cupertino-based tech giant may have found the way to snatch millions of cheap Android phone shoppers.

A lot of people are talking about the iPhone 5C because the rumours are sometimes smoke from real, blazing insider information. A Chinese tech site had first dished the new iPhone photos. Mac Otakara also uploaded to YouTube a related video. (Scroll down to watch the intriguing clip.) More recently, sonnydickson.com posted a vast set of photos, making the cheap iPhone seem real.

"I aim to be your go-to site for stories regarding Apple Internal leaks and prototype information," writes Sonny Dickson on his "About" page. But he wrote nothing on his iPhone 5C blog entry. Instead, he said volumes with the images he posted. (Start the slideshow to see some of the purported new iPhone images.)

The C in iPhone 5C does not mean "clone" or "case" according to cheap iPhone hopefuls. But the seemingly plastic case with its rounded edges does seem to be uncharacteristic of Apple. Then again, Samsung creates a variety of phones, covering a vast range of budget. And it is working. To this day, many newbie gadget shoppers snub Apple and patronize Samsung over the companies' product pricing schemes.

Do you think Apple is really offering a cheap iPhone in 2013?

Best pictures of the budget iPhone 5C I've seen yet.. Check them out. My bet - Expect this phone in the fall. http://t.co/vqAYowqmOX
