9 to 5 Mac picked up new alleged photos of the upcoming iPhone 5. The new photos revealed nothing much has been changed on the outside of the device.

On the Web site of repair shop iLab posted purported photos of the new iPhone showing the new parts. These parts are assembled together making a convincing device that is worth looking at.

Based on the photos of the iPhone 5, it seems that there are no major changes incurred in the new device, except for a slightly longer screen display. Some of the other obvious changes are smaller connector, which is speculated to be 19-pin dock connector and the headphone jack placed at the bottom of the device.

With minimal changes made on the outside, we can only hope that the Apple packed more inside the new iPhone 5. Some of the rumored features of the upcoming iPhone 5 are 4G/LTE capability, A6 chip and equipped by the new iOS 6.

It was first reported that the new iPhone will be released on August 7. However, Boy Genius Report put cold on the rumor of August 7 release date. According to the "trusted sources" mentioned by the report, the iPhone 5 is most likely to be released in September or October.

There may be some truth in the new rumor about iPhone's 5 since there is a decrease in sales of iPhone 4S. In the most recent report, Apple's third quarter earnings were below analysts' predictions. Apple said it sold 26 million iPhones, down from 35.1 million in the previous quarter.

Apple's chief executive Tim Cook and CFO Peter Oppenheimer admitted that the rumors and speculations circulating about the upcoming iPhone affected the sales of current iPhone.

The rumors caused some consumers to put off purchases of the current phones and are now waiting for the newest model.

"We're reading the same speculation about a new iPhone as you are, and we think this has caused some delay in purchasing," Oppenheimer said.

Apple's CFO is referring to the flood rumors about the iPhone 5 that claimed that the next handset will have a larger and thinner display, a new dock connector, and a faster processor and larger graphics.

However, the two were still secretive of the details of the upcoming smartphone. In May, Cook said he was planning to "double down on secrecy" on products, but he conceded it won't stop the speculation.

"I'm glad that people want the next thing, I am super happy about it. I am not going to put energy into getting people to stop speculating, that's not going to amount to anything," Cook said.
