Garmin's newest Forerunner 935 sports watch has many new features for sports enthusiasts. The smart device not only tracks its user's exercise data, but it has a broad range of sensors as well.

The Garmin watch comes with the company's broad range of tracking features. It has sensors for heart rate, an altimeter and a barometer. The device is also compatible with Garmin's fitness features, especially for sports such as cycling, swimming and hiking. However, its emphasis for cardio activities makes it a good accessory for runners in particular.

This is because the 935 measures particular ratings such as stride length, cadence, ground contact and balance. These are all important information that runners can use in order to execute good form.

The sports watch has 24 hours' worth of battery life if its GPS feature is turned on. However, it lasts for up to two weeks as a regular smart watch. The device is also compatible with Garmin Connect, which is the company's platform for sharing fitness data among its users. This allows Garmin users to share and rate each others' data.

Like other Garmin watches, the 935 can also be paired with a compatible smartphone. This allows users to control audio prompts and live music through the watch. The smart device can also be customised with a variety of watch faces.

The Forerunner 935 will be Garmin's newest release three months after the Fenix 5 series in January 2017. The 935 is also be the latest in the Forerunner series a year after the Forerunner 35XT was released in 2016.

According to DC Rainmaker, the Garmin smart device appears to share similarities with both the 35XT and the Fenix 5. It is a cheaper iteration of the Fenix 5, as the latter costs US$599 (AU$780). The 935 comes with plastic, leather and metal straps. Meanwhile, the Fenix 5 only comes with a metal strap.

This makes the Forerunner 935 a more versatile watch as it can be made to adapt to all sorts of environments. Users can opt for the plastic strap for fitness sessions, and they can go for the metal strap if they want to attend formal events.

The 935 also comes with the 735XT's "Suffer Score." This allows users to track the amount of effort they exert during fitness sessions. Users will also see two new features, the "Training Load" and "Training Status."

"Training Load" will measure a user's exercise volume for the past week and compare them to recent sessions. Meanwhile, the "Training Status" looks at a user's performance on a day-to-day basis.

However, the Garmin Forerunner 935 is not cheap. Users can buy the smart watch for US$500 (AU$651). Swimmers and triathletes can buy a bundle that has the 935 and other sensors for US$650 (AU$847).
