Google major Android updates always introduced primary features revolutionizing the platform. This time, the tech giant wishes to do the same with Multiple Accounts and Material Design.

Google's release of the Nexus 7 2012 also introduced the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update. The mobile OS came with two significant features: Google Now and Project Butter (for device smoothness). Android 5.0 Lollipop's entry to the scene will bring changes to the Google Search application bumping it to version 4.0.26. The more prominent tweak many experts point out is the Material Design.

According to Android Headlines, Material Design offers bold, colorful and fluid animations to the entire UI. There will be more floating items for reminders including bright and large headers. People can also expect the menu to slide coming from the edge emphasizing the focus of Material Design.

The Android 5.0 "Lollipop" 4.0.26 has been released to Nexus 5 but Droid Life warns about incompatibility with other devices. People can try with the .apk download although devices should run on the Android 5.0 for it to work. People can still try the download but it is best to wait for the Lollipop upgrade to test out everything.

Apart from the Material Design, Android Geeks also reported about a new Gmail integration with Outlook and Yahoo. Users can soon switch between the accounts by simply swiping. The new design allows people to touch the account and down it down for access. As with the previous feature, users may have to wait for the official roll out of the Android 5.0 to test out any of these features. The Gmail 5.0 APK is not yet available and may not work unless the device runs on Android Lollipop.

There are Lollipop apps ready already for testing. Teams like XDA Developers offer a range of downloads although most reports recommend waiting for the final version of the Android update for better experience.
