Samsung begins pushing Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update for T-Mobile Galaxy S2 and the device has been receiving constant update everywhere. The Jelly Bean update will give T-Mobile S2 variant new features such as Google Now and Project Butter.

"Beginning April 8, the Samsung Galaxy S2 will have an optional software update to Android version 4.1.2, software T989UVMC6 via Samsung Kies only. This update changes the OS to Jelly Bean," according to T-Mobile's software update page.

According to SamMobile, the update includes the following features:

  • Project Butter - Buttery smoothness and great stability
  • Complete User Revamp - Galaxy S2 and Galaxy Note 2 similar user interface
  • TouchWiz Nature UX
  • Samsung S Cloud Services
  • Improved Camera features
  • New lockscreen customisation options
  • New features such as Direct Call, Smart Stay and Pop-up Play
  • New Widgets from Galaxy S3
  • Two new home screen modes
  • New notifications bar with more additional toggles
  • Google Now

How to Update using Samsung Kies PC Suite:

1. Download and install the Samsung Kies software on your computer

2. Check the battery level of the device, it must be at least 50 per cent.

3. Check the USB debugging on your phone. Go to Applications > Development > USB debugging.

4. Connect your phone using the USB device to your computer

5. Launch the Samsung Kies and wait the drivers to be installed

6. Once Samsung Kies recognises the device, unplug and replug it to detect the new firmware update

7. Confirm the Update and read the Caution statements

8. Proceed without saving and click Start Upgrade

9. Samsung Kies will download the new software to your computer and later on to the phone

10. A Firmware Upgrade complete window will open after the installation
