Julie Andrews is starring on a children’s show to be aired on Netflix. She will be working with Jim Henson and his puppets.

Netflix is producing a pre-school series called “Julie’s Greenroom.” It would be featuring Julie Andrews and a cast of puppets by Jim Henson’s Creature Shop. The show basically aims to teach children about performing arts and theatre.

Andrews’ character will be the director of “Wellspring Center of the Performing Arts” called Ms. Julie. She will have an assistant, Gus, played by Giullian Yao Gioiello. Ms.Julie and Gus would be teaching the children puppets about arts and conduct theatre workshops. She would be teaching them in the theatre and its “Greenroom.” The group of puppet children are collectively called as ‘The Greenies’, the BBC writes.

Julie Andrews created the series in collaboration with her daughter, Emma Walton Hamilton, aand co-creator is Judy Rothman-Rof é. The show would showcase high-profile guest stars, such as Sarah Bareilles, Carol Burnett, Alec Baldwin, Joshua Bell, Chris Colfer, Josh Groban, Tituss Burgess, Robert Fairchild, Idina Menzel, David Hyde Pierce, Tiler Peck, Ellie Kemper and Stomp.

Andrews and her daughter Emma both have similar interests in working with children. They have written 30 children’s books together. The acclaimed actress feels a connection between the upcoming show and her celebrated film roles.

During the early period of her career, Andrews played Mary Poppins and “The Sound of Music’s” Maria. Both characters also involved looking out for a group of children. She says that her passion to communicate with kids has evolved from those roles. The upcoming show is a lovely culmination of her love for theatre and her passion for children.

Each episode would end with a “Wow! Moment.” This would be a presentation or number of the specific art form being discussed. It would highlight the talents of the guest performers. Viewers can expect different performances, like music, voice, circus arts, mime and improv.

However, viewers should not expect Andrews to be doing some heavy singing. Her singing voice was damaged back in the ‘90’s. She says that she would be doing some performing, like duets, choruses and dance numbers. However, she noted that she will leave the heavy singing to Idina and Guillian, USA Today shares.
