“Black Mirror,” the British sci-fi/satire TV series from Charlie Brooker, is officially coming to Netflix. The online streaming site has ordered 12 all-new episodes for Season 3 of the acclaimed series. Here are five reasons why you should watch it.

1. The series was well-received by fans everywhere. Charlie Brooker ("Dead Set," "Brass Eye"), the creator, co-showrunner and executive producer of the show, said that his team is very excited to feature several new “Black Mirror” episodes on the most ideal platform. Netflix connects them with a global audience so that they can create bigger, more mind-bending stories that are more international and diverse than before. At the same time, they are still able to keep the feel that made “Black Mirror” very popular. Annabel Jones will be Brooker’s co-showrunner, TV Line writes.

2. There are more episodes in Season 3. The first two seasons consisted of only three episodes each. There was a Christmas special titled “White Christmas,” starring Jon Hamm, Oona Chaplin and Rafe Spall. The third season of “Black Mirror” will feature 12 all-new episodes, according to The Verge. “Black Mirror” fans will have a lot to look forward to in terms of plot and character development.

3. Viewers do not have to watch all the episodes at once. Fans can watch the show at their own leisure. Netflix provides the perfect platform for such a format, providing it the opportunity to stand out, as well as gain more fans around the globe, at a faster rate than traditional TV networks.

4. It is ideal for suspense and thriller fans. The British anthology series features speculative fiction with dark and satirical themes that focus on modern society. There is special attention given to the surprising effects of new technologies. Each episode features a different cast, a different setting and a new reality, all showcasing how people live at present. Some might refer to “Black Mirror” as the modern-day “The Twilight Zone.”

5. Major celebrities will be appearing. After Jon Hamm’s Christmas special appearance and the continuing momentum that “Black Mirror” gained over the years, the recent deal with Netflix is expected to bring in bigger stars. Fans might even see some of Hollywood’s finest in an episode or two soon.

No official release date for “Black Mirror” Season 3 has been announced yet.
