For its last salvo this week, “Neighbours” deals with Ramsay Street’s own share of family drama, unrequited love and new prospects. On Friday, Xanthe Canning (Lilly Van Der Meer) displays another act of stubbornness when she insists to tag along Ben Ian Kirk (Felix Mallard) and Madison Robinson (Sarah Ellen) on their trip to the Gold Coast.

Meanwhile, Jack Callahan (Andrew Morley) doesn’t appreciate seeing Paige Smith (Olympia Valance) get along Dr David Tanaka (Takaya Honda). “Neighbours” posted a sneak peek of Friday’s episode on its Facebook page. In the clip, Xanthe lashes at her dad for not letting her go to the Gold Coast with Ben and Madison. “You just don’t want me to be happy,” she says. “I’m your love child – you never really wanted me. You probably don’t even love me.” Gary replies that it’s not the best way to convince him to allow her to go. Xanthe pleads her case, but Gary refuses to budge. This completely irks Xanthe, prompting her to utter harshly, “I hate you and I wish you’d never go out of prison.”

Digital Spy reports that despite Gary’s final refusal, Xanthe still does what she wants: join Madison and Ben on their trip. Meanwhile, spoilers also suggest that Jack gets jealous when he sees Paige hitting it off with David. Elsewhere, Gary and Terese find a common ground when they discussed about parenting and she invites him out.

“Neighbours” recap

On Thursday, Toadie was left speechless after Sonya’s surrogacy bombshell. He couldn’t get wrap his head around the fact that Sonya was even considering it. She tried to justify her decision. Toadie told her that it was incredibly hard for Susan’s case before, and he’s scared it might tear their family apart. He also worried that Sonya thought of this because she feels like something’s missing in their relationship.

Toadie headed to the hospital to consult Karl, who told him to look at it as an act of love. The next day, Steph confided in on Toadie about how she’s missing Charlie. Later, Sonya dropped by Toadie’s office to bring him some dinner. He then told her that he need some time to think about her proposal.

At the hospital, Angelina’s family refused to undergo a risky procedure, but Paige tried to convince them that it’s Angelina’s only option. Later, Paige had an opportunity to speak with Rena alone. Paige told her that Angelina is a fighter, and that she’d take the chance if she could speak right there and then. Rena heeded Paige’s advice and allowed for the procedure to be done. However, Angelina’s condition didn’t seem good, and Angelina’s sister approached Paige to threaten her.

Meanwhile, Aaron buttered up Terese, hoping to encourage her to sponsor Blaze. Aaron got through to her and she agreed for Lassiters to become a major sponsor. A handsome stranger listened in their conversation, clearly interested in Aaron. Later, Paul walked in and Aaron told him about Lassiter’s sponsorship, hoping to reel in Paul to sponsor as well. Wanting to outdo Terese, Paul doubled her offer but with certain conditions – he wants exclusivity. Again, the stranger watched in fascination as Aaron did his magic.

Shortly after, Aaron told Terese about Paul’s offer. She decided to raise her offer to $3,000, which is a thousand higher than what Paul committed to support. However, she wanted to sign right there and then, and she also wanted exclusivity. The stranger finally came over and commended Aaron for his strategy. Outside, Aaron bumped into Amy and told her about the hottie he met at The Waterhole. Amy told him it’s the same guy who parked his car right in front of her truck. Aaron and Leo introduced themselves.
