“Neighbours” posted a sneak peek of Thursday’s episode on its Facebook page. In the clip, Mark goes to church and puts a listening device on the confession booth, hoping that the stalker comes there again. Digital Spy reports that prior to this incident, Mark asks permission from Ellen Crabb to bug the confessional but she refuses, saying they would never get the warrant through this. Determined to protect Steph, Mark disobeys Ellen’s order and breaks his code of ethics as a police officer.

Meanwhile, Gary is forced to give Paul a list of Lassiters guests who were affected by the hidden cameras. Paul wastes no time telling the guests about it, and they are expectedly outraged. Terese tries to manage the crisis, but the news reaches her investors. She’s left with no choice but to be accountable for what happened.

“Neighbours” recap

On Wednesday, the Cannings were stunned to see Cooper at their doorstep. The schoolboy was there to settle things with Xanthe, but she’s still seething mad at everything he did, including the assault and the lies. Xanthe said she’ll only accept his apology if Cooper comes clean about the person who hit him. Cooper refused to talk and left.

At the hospital, Karl talked to Dr Knights about Cooper. Karl tried to make Cooper’s mum admit that she assaulted him. Karl even brought up about Cooper’s past injuries, but Dr Knights denied ever hurting her son. Meanwhile, Ben sought Tyler’s advice about Cooper. Ben asked Tyler to go with him to confront Cooper. At first, Cooper denied what Alison said but as Tyler talked to him and shared about his own experiences of domestic violence, Cooper finally admitted the truth. Cooper then talked to Susan about everything – what happened with Xanthe and with his mum. While Dr Knights did not hit him, she shoved him and he fell off, hitting his head. He also revealed that this wasn’t the first time it happened.

Later, the police arrived at the hospital to bring in Dr Knights for questioning. She assumed Karl called them, but he revealed it was Cooper. She pleaded her case to Karl, but he said being angry or disciplining kids is not an excuse to hurt them. At the Cannings, Xanthe told Sheila and Gary that Cooper told her the truth about his mum. Mark also came to tell them the good news – Gary’s case was dismissed, meaning he won’t be going back to prison. Xanthe enthusiastically hugged her dad. Considering her dad’s second chance, Xanthe decided to give Cooper an opportunity to turn his life around. She won’t be pressing charges and instead wants Cooper to attend support groups about assault. Xanthe felt moved when she learned that it was Ben responsible for making Cooper talk.

Meanwhile, the stalker followed Steph as she walked to the bank. Before the stalker could attack her, Jack arrived. By this time, Jack already realised that the mystery guy was really targeting Steph, not Paige. Later, Jack approached Mark and was disappointed to hear that the police were pretty much convinced Clive was the person terrorising Ramsay Street. Jack consulted an older priest about his dilemma, but he was told that he can’t discuss what he’s heard during confession with anyone. Doing so would incur automatic ex-communication.

Steph struggled how to let down Mark gently – she didn’t want to move in with him. At The Waterhole, he devised a plan with Sonya but it didn’t go well. Steph then excused herself and said she’ll go home first. Unknown to her, the stalker was just there, listening in. Meanwhile, Toadie inadvertently mentioned that Steph didn’t want Charlie to live with Mark and his brothers anymore. Mark confronted Steph about it, and they had an argument.

Once alone, Steph talked to Sonya on the phone. she’s unaware that the stalker is inside the house. When Jack found out Steph’s home alone, he rushed off to the Brennan’s. A bit later, Steph felt someone’s in the house but before she could investigate further, Jack knocked on the door. Without saying why, he warned Steph that she could be in danger. Suddenly, the stalker emerged from a room and ran outside. Jack ran after him.
