Unfortunate incidents continue to unfold at Ramsay Street on the upcoming episode of “Neighbours.” On Friday, Sonya Rebecchi (Eve Morey) reels after finding out that Jarrod “Toadie” Rebecchi (Ryan Moloney) has been keeping something from her. Toadie’s big secret may just affect Sonya’s final decision on their surrogacy plans.

Things are not so rosy in the hospital as well, especially for Karl Kennedy (Alan Fletcher). Brad Willis’ (Kip Gamblin) health status makes a turn for the worse, which raises doubts about the doctor’s decisions. Other “Neighbours” cast members who will also appear on the Oct. 21 episode include Mark Brennan (Scott McGregor), Stephanie Scully (Carla Bonner), Lauren Turner (Kate Kendall) and Piper Willis (Mavournee Hazel), Tyler Brennan (Travis Burns) and David Tanaka (Takaya Honda).

“Neighbours” also stars Susan Kennedy (Jackie Woodburne), Paul Robinson (Stefan Dennis), Aaron Brennan (Matt Wilson), Terese Willis (Rebekah Elmaloglou), Gary Canning (Damien Richardson), Sheila Canning (Colette Mann), Amy Williams (Zoe Cramond), Paige Smith (Olympia Valance), Jack Callahan (Andrew Morley), Ben Ian Kirk (Felix Mallard), Xanthe Canning (Lilly Van Der Meer), Elly Conway (Jodi Anasta), Ned Willis (Ben Hall) and Leo Tanaka (Tim Kano).

“Neighbours” posted a sneak peek of Friday’s episode on its Facebook page. In the clip, David shares with Karl his observations on Brad’s condition. Raising the possibility that the patient’s kidneys could be under strain, David recommends putting him on dialysis while Karl continues to investigate. Nurse Fisher overhears their conversation and remarks that the delay better not cause irreparable damage to Brad’s kidneys. Karl snaps at her and tells her to keep her opinion to herself.

Digital Spy reports that the same nurse pulls Lauren aside and tells her to get a second opinion. While David means to help, his insight may give the nurse ammunition to pin down Karl, considering that the doctor still has a pending case regarding Regan’s death.

Spoilers also suggest that the interview has made things awkward between Steph and Mark. Sonya, on the other hand, discovers what Toadie has been keeping from her. Elsewhere, Tyler is challenged to act on his feelings.

“Neighbours” recap

On Thursday, Brad was confined to the hospital after collapsing at Lauren’s room. Lauren told Steph, who rushed over. When the two hugged, they knocked over Ned’s tattoo kit. The ink bottle laced with poison dropped to the ground and Lauren picked it up and threw it inside the box. At Brad’s room, Karl grilled him about his latest activities that could have contributed to his condition.

Later, when Lauren was visiting Brad, Karl arrived and asked to talk to Brad alone. Lauren and Piper became wrought with worry with the fact that Karl asked to see Brad in private. When Karl told Lauren she could see Brad, she rushed to his room. Apparently, Karl just didn’t want to ruin the surprise: that Brad got a tattoo ring as a wedding gift for Lauren. Karl said it might have been infected. Hearing that it’s just a possible wound infection, Lauren heaved a sigh of relief. However, when Lauren asked Karl when Brad would be able to go home, the doctor said there had been some abnormal results in the patient’s charts and that there’s a need to run more tests.

Meanwhile, Sonya was anxious about the surrogacy interview and Toadie tried to comfort her. It seemed Mark also shared Sonya’s feelings but Steph seemed calm and collected. Later, Sonya, Toadie and Mark headed to the hospital for the counselling session. Sonya went right ahead while Toadie talked to Karl about Brad. Their conversation then shifted to the surrogacy plan, and Toadie confessed that he visited a fertility clinic before. Karl advised him that if he’s got any reservations, it’s the perfect opportunity to express them.

The interviews went awkward with the two couples. Mark and Sonya seemed extremely enthusiastic about the process, but Toadie and Steph looked hesitant. Despite Karl’s advice, Toadie didn’t tell the truth about what he wanted regarding having another child with Sonya. The counselor later called and observed that it seems they’re not all on the same page with regard to the surrogacy. Later, the four sat down together to talk about the issues they have. The possibility that Sonya might get too attached with the baby seemed to be a sore point, but she assured them that she can handle it. The four then realised that things are much more complicated than they initially thought.
