Big surprises await Ramsay Street as “Neighbours” delivers its next episode. On Thursday, Sheila Canning (Colette Mann) is horrified when she realises that she made a huge mistake the other night. Fans would remember that while she was in a drunken state, she sent a message to her son’s ex, asking her to come back.

A complicated past is the last thing that Gary Canning (Damien Richardson) and Terese Willis (Rebekah Elmaloglou) needs. After some stumbling blocks in the beginning, the two are finally enjoying their relationship. Brooke Butler’s (Fifi Box) return may ruin things for the new couple, considering that he may have unresolved feelings for his ex. Other characters who will also appear prominently on the March 30 episode include Xanthe Canning (Lilly Van Der Meer), Amy Williams (Zoe Cramond), Leo Tanaka (Tim Kano) and David Tanaka (Takaya Honda).

The soap also stars Sonya Rebecchi (Eve Morey), Jarrod “Toadie” Rebecchi (Ryan Moloney), Karl Kennedy (Alan Fletcher), Susan Kennedy (Jackie Woodburne), Mark Brennan (Scott McGregor), Paul Robinson (Stefan Dennis), Stephanie Scully (Carla Bonner), Paige Smith (Olympia Valance), Jack Callahan (Andrew Morley), Elly Conway (Jodi Anasta), Brad Willis (Kip Gamblin) and Lauren Turner (Kate Kendall), Tyler Brennan (Travis Burns), Piper Willis (Mavournee Hazel), Aaron Brennan (Matt Wilson), Ben Ian Kirk (Felix Mallard) and Jimmy (Darcy Tadich).

“Neighbours” posted a sneak peek of Thursday’s episode on its Facebook page. In the clip, David tells his mum, “Half of our genetic identity is lost to us. We could be at risk of heart disease, depression, cancer... anything he passed on but we don’t know about it thanks to you.” However, his mum refuses to budge, arguing that plenty of people don’t know those things as well. “Just be happy with what you have,” she says before walking out. Amy follows her, hoping to talk some sense with her. Leo, on the other hand, smashes a figurine and finds a key in there.

Digital Spy reports that the Tanaka brothers are excited for their mother’s visit in Erinsborough, hoping that they can coax her into finally revealing the identity of their father. Leo also confronts Clive Gibbons about the Udagawa’s generous donation to the hospital.

The March 30 episode also features Sheila, who becomes conscious of a big mistake that she committed while she was drunk. She finds herself in a tricky situation and suffers the consequences of her actions.

“Neighbours” recap

On Wednesday, Toadie sought the help of Karl and Susan to convince Sonya in changing her mind about divorcing him. Karl promised to talk to Sonya but warned Toadie that he can’t guarantee it’s going to help. Later, Karl tried to talk to Sonya but she was inconsolable. He brought up the fact that he and Susan went through the same problem of infidelity but it seemed to make Sonya even more furious. Karl, with the help of Steph, then tried to play the Nell card but Sonya insisted that she is thinking what’s best for the kid.

Meanwhile, Toadie headed to the Brennans to apologise and ask Mark to help him with Sonya. However, Mark blamed Toadie for everything that happened, saying that he doesn’t deserve Sonya or Nell. Mark kicked Toadie out of his house before things could get worse. Later, Toadie went back to the Kennedys and told them that Mark thinks it’s his fault that Sonya lost the baby. Karl and Susan tried to comfort Toadie, who’s completely beside himself.

Desperate for any help, he begged Susan to talk to his wife, since she was in the same situation before. Susan refused and became emotional as she told Toadie that while she wants him to be happy, what he did was wrong. “Being sorry is not going to magically fix this. The damage is done,” she said. “Your relationship will never be what it was.”

Mark informed Sonya that Toadie came to him and ask for help. When he told her that he’s blaming her for her miscarriage, Sonya came to her husband’s defense. Sonya also came to realise that Toadie is not the only one to blame for the failure of their marriage – she’s also partly to blame why it fell apart. Later, Sonya talked to Toadie to talk about the arrangements of their separation. While Toadie was still wrapping his head around this, she clarified that it’s non-negotiable. That afternoon, the two told Nell that Toadie will be staying with the Kennedys, while assuring her that they’ll love and care for her in the same way. After, Toadie packed his bags and moved next door.

Across town, Terese and Gary decided to organise a get-together lunch with their families. While Piper and Xanthe were excited, Sheila feared that Terese is taking over her family. At lunch, things were awkward between Gary and Piper – he tried to make small talk but they can’t seem to hit it off. Meanwhile, Xanthe arrived and told them that Brooke messaged her. Xanthe said she didn’t reply, still hurt with how Brooke left all of them just like that. Sheila, on the other hand, turned to alcohol to drown her resentment with Terese. Later, she had too much to drink and sent a message to Brooke, asking her to come back right away and telling her that Gary has been depressed since she left.
