An emotional day awaits Ramsay Street as “Neighbours” delivers its first salvo for the week. On Monday, Sonya Rebecchi (Eve Morey) and Mark Brennan (Scott McGregor) hold a funeral service for their baby who died in her womb. Sadness and anger fill both, with Mark blaming Jarrod “Toadie” Rebecchi (Ryan Moloney) for what happened.

Toadie, who’s still in London with Karl Kennedy (Alan Fletcher), wants desperately to come home and salvage his relationship with Sonya. However, reconciliation may be the farthest thing in her mind right now. Other characters who will also appear prominently on the March 27 episode include Susan Kennedy (Jackie Woodburne), Stephanie Scully (Carla Bonner), Paige Smith (Olympia Valance), Jack Callahan (Andrew Morley), Elly Conway (Jodi Anasta), Brad Willis (Kip Gamblin) and Lauren Turner (Kate Kendall).

The soap also stars Terese Willis (Rebekah Elmaloglou), Sheila Canning (Colette Mann), Paul Robinson (Stefan Dennis), Amy Williams (Zoe Cramond), Gary Canning (Damien Richardson), Tyler Brennan (Travis Burns), Piper Willis (Mavournee Hazel), Aaron Brennan (Matt Wilson), Xanthe Canning (Lilly Van Der Meer), Ben Ian Kirk (Felix Mallard), Jimmy (Darcy Tadich), Leo Tanaka (Tim Kano) and David Tanaka (Takaya Honda).

“Neighbours” posted a sneak peek of Monday’s episode on its Facebook page. In the clip, Susan informs Sonya that Karl and Toadie’s flight back to Australia is going to be delayed by a couple of hours. “It means they won’t make it in time for the ceremony,” she says. “I was wondering how you’d feel about just delaying it until they get here?”

Steph agrees putting it off until the two men arrive is a good idea. “I spoke to Karl before they took off and he said that there’s nothing Toadie wants more than to be here for you during the service,” Susan adds. However, Sonya doesn’t think the original plan should be changed. “I don’t care,” she mutters. “It’s not about Jarrod. It’s about me and Mark and our baby.” Digital Spy reports that in the upcoming run, Toadie wants to resolve his marriage crisis but Sonya is not at all ready to forgive and forget.

Mark, on the other hand, blames Toadie for the tragedy and despite his friends’ support, his anger seems to overwhelm him. Meanwhile, Paige has made a decision to proceed to her family’s original plan of moving to Queensland. However, Jack asks her to think about his proposal again, hoping to change her mind.

“Neighbours” recap

Last week, Paige told her parents about Jack’s offer and they couldn’t help but question how it’s going to work. Brad was also upset that he hasn’t told the church about being the dad of Paige’s baby. Despite her fears, it appeared that she’s leaning towards staying in Erinsborough and raising the child with Jack.

Speaking of Jack, he spoke to his superior about his offer to Paige. The bishop wasn’t too happy about it, afraid that Jack would lose the support of the community. Jack, on the other hand, criticised his superior for lying to him about Paige’s baby. An argument ensued between them but Jack stood his ground. Later, when Jack shared his plans with Amy, she also got confused his decision, wondering how he would be able to juggle being a father and a priest at the same time.

Paige shocked Lauren and Piper when she announced that she’s going to stay in Erinsborough. Lauren was visibly upset – after all, their decision to move was mostly for Paige’s sake. Paige explained that more than anything, she wants her baby to know her father and not go through what she experienced before. Later, however, Amy told her the repercussions of what Jack plans to do and asked her to convince him to leave the church.

Xanthe told Elly that she’s getting another tutor since she wants to focus on more Science subjects. Elly was happy for her and expressed her support but her mood shifted when she learned Finn would be Xanthe’s new tutor. She was further incensed when she discovered that her ex would soon be moving to Ramsay Street, as part of the tutoring deal with Xanthe. She wasted no time confronting Finn, who seemed to have an answer for everything. He also threatened to report her “wild accusations” to Susan and said he’s not going anywhere.
