A blanket of sadness covers Ramsay Street on the next episode of “Neighbours.” On Thursday, Sonya Rebecchi (Eve Morey) deals with depression after two enormous blows: her husband’s betrayal and her miscarriage. Spoilers suggest that instead of turning to her loved ones for comfort, she chooses to close her doors to everyone.

In London, Jarrod “Toadie” Rebecchi (Ryan Moloney) struggles as he prepares to go home, aware that he has to face the consequences of his mistake. Other characters who will also appear prominently on the March 23 episode include Mark Brennan (Scott McGregor), Stephanie Scully (Carla Bonner), Paige Smith (Olympia Valance), Jack Callahan (Andrew Morley), Karl Kennedy (Alan Fletcher) and Susan Kennedy (Jackie Woodburne).

“Neighbours” posted a sneak peek of Thursday’s episode on its Facebook page. In the clip, Toadie is lying down on a hospital bed in London when Karl delivers some grim news. “Sonya knows that you and Andrea spent the night together,” Karl reveals. When Toadie wonders how, Karl replies that Sonya saw him and Andrea together on Skype. When he realises that he must not have ended the call with his wife, Toadie breaks down, horrified at the thought of what Sonya saw.

Digital Spy reports that in the upcoming run, Sonya has opted to nurse her broken heart alone, shutting everyone out. Nell begins to suspect that something’s not right with her mum and becomes upset herself. Meanwhile, Toadie asks Willow to return with him in Erinsborough so she can have a shot at a better life. His offer comes despite the fact that Willow is not really his daughter as he earlier believed.

The upcoming run also features Jack, who realises after Sonya’s miscarriage that being a parent is a blessing. As a result, he reckons it’s time to act on his responsibilities as a father to his baby with Paige. Fans would remember that he offered to turn his back on priesthood to be with her and their child but Paige sensed that his heart is not into it. This time, it seems Jack really wants to choose being a dad more than being a priest.

'Neighbours' recap

On Wednesday, Toadie immediately regretted what he did, telling “Dee” (Madeleine West) that sleeping together was a mistake. As he reels at what happened, Andrea seemed to think it was the beginning of a relationship between them. When she left him to take a bath, he tidied up the room and accidentally found her passport. He was shocked to see the truth in black and white – the woman claiming to be his ex-wife is a fraud.

Andrea emerged from the bathroom and Toadie immediately confronted her about the passport. Initially she lied, saying Willow (Mieke Billing-Smith) decided to have fake names so Toadie won’t be able to follow them. When he didn’t buy it, Andrea finally confessed everything, including Sindi’s (Marisa Warrington) involvement. She was also compelled to tell him that the whole scheme was about getting money from real Dee’s estate. However, she said not everything was a lie – she really fell for him. Toadie was floored – he struggled to keep his head around Andrea’s deception. She begged him to forgive her and give her another chance but he lashed out at her, calling her a monster.

Still in complete shock, Toadie packed his bags and checked out of the hotel. He bumped into Willow and as he tried to get away from her, he was hit by a car and was knocked down to the pavement. The young girl rushed to tell Andrea, but she refused to help him, fearing that he’ll turn them in to the cops once he gains consciousness. Later, Toadie woke up and found himself in a hospital, with Karl by his bedside. The doctor started to tell Toadie the truth about Andrea but he said he already knew the whole story.

Back in Erinsborough, Sonya was absolutely crushed after seeing her husband betray her with another woman. Steph tried to comfort her friend but Sonya was inconsolable, believing that Toadie loves “Dee.” Mark arrived and revealed that “Dee” is a fake and her real name is Andrea Somers. He also told them that Willow, who’s 15 years old and not 13, wasn’t Toadie’s real daughter. Later, Sonya began feeling contractions and asked Mark to take her to the hospital right away. At the hospital, David reassured them that the baby’s doing fine. However, it wasn’t long before things make a turn for the worse – the baby died inside Sonya’s womb.
