Rekindling old flames and dousing new ones hound Ramsay Street on the upcoming episode of “Neighbours.” On Thursday, Amy Williams (Zoe Cramond) seems to find a knight in shining armour to save her from her current predicament. After Aaron Brennan (Matt Wilson) fails to convince her old boss to back off, Tom Quill (Kane Felsinger) comes to the rescue and provides the persistent man an offer he can’t refuse, saving Amy from her misery.

Channel Eleven posted a sneak peek of Thursday’s episode. In the trailer, Amy lashes at Aaron, “I can’t believe you told him!” Aaron insists he was just trying to fix things. Digital Spy reports that Aaron feels bad about making things worse and opens up to Tom. Tom, on the other hand, comes through for Amy – he’ll offer Ryan a contract to clean at the hotel but in exchange, he’d leave Amy alone.

The teaser also shows Jack talking to Paige. He wonders, “How do I choose between two things that I love?” Meanwhile, Xanthe decides to ask Ben to be her date for the school formal, but it seems she won’t get the answer she’s hoping for. Digital Spy spoilers indicate that Ben will say no. Feeling guilty to have encouraged his daughter, Gary offers Ben money to be Xanthe’s date at the dance.

“Neighbours” recap

On Wednesday, Paige ranted to Lauren about the fact that Jack hasn’t called her back despite telling him that she’ll wait for him. Paige admitted that she’s never felt like that before with any other guy, and that she just wants to know whether he wants to go back to church or be with her. At that point, Jack arrived back to Ramsay Street.

Later, Lauren and Paige spotted Jack talking to a guy. Paige was dumfounded – she wondered why he didn’t tell her he’s in town. Lauren said he might want to surprise her, but Paige wasn’t too hopeful. Jack talked to the priest that he confessed to before, and said that he was questioning his faith before the explosion happened. He said he’s just as confused, despite going home with his family.

Refusing to give up, Paige tried to ring Jack’s phone while he’s a few metres away, wanting to see his reaction. It wasn’t good – he rejected her call. She was devastated and told her mother about it. She realised Jack doesn’t want to be with her but is too much of a coward to tell her. Later, Jack walked up to her – it seemed Lauren texted him to see her – but Paige brushed him off. Lauren asked Jack whether he has made a decision. She told him that Paige is confused and he needs to clear the air. Jack admitted that he’s confused, too.

Meanwhile, Mark was concerned that Paul might take legal action for being wrongly imprisoned. Mark sought Toadie’s advice about the matter. Toadie assured him that he’d help him, and advised him to relax. Their talk turned to Steph – Mark said he hasn’t spoken to her since they argued about Paul. He’s worried that their relationship might be done.

Elsewhere, Steph and Amy were having coffee and they talked about Mark, who’s been messaging Steph relentlessly. She thought that Mark wants to break up with her. Meanwhile, Amy became rattled when the mystery man from last night showed up. Amy told Steph that she has never seen that guy before, and Steph got the wrong idea that he might be after Amy for romantic reasons. Shortly after, Steph and Mark finally got time to talk privately about their relationship. They realised that they assumed wrong about each other, and finally made up.

Once Steph left, Amy approached the guy and it seemed she does know him. He said he’s got a proposition for her, but she refused, saying that life is behind her now. She told him off and ordered him to leave her alone. Later, she was talking to Aaron about promoting herself when he noticed she seems distracted. She asked him about his past as a dancer and whether people gave him a hard time about it. She then revealed her previous life: she used to clean houses and offices for money… in her underwear. Amy told Aaron that she did it for her money, and he said it’s all in the past. Amy said her old boss, Ryan, showed up – it’s the mystery man who kept showing up. Aaron volunteered to talk to Ryan and tell him to back off Amy.

At the café, Aaron met with Ryan to tell him that Amy has moved on and that she’s got a whole new life in Erinsborough. Ryan said he just wants to work with her again. Aaron insisted Amy’s not interested anymore, and let it on that it won’t be good for her son to know about her past. Aaron thought he got through with Ryan, but it seemed Amy’s former boss has found his bargaining tool with Amy. Later, Ryan went over to Amy and told her that his business is going bust and that’s why he’s desperate to have her back at work. He said one big customer is requesting for Amy – just for one day – and it’ll make a huge difference for Ryan’s business. She rejected him again and he walked off. However, it seemed like Ryan is not taking no for an answer. Amy got an envelope tucked on her car’s wiper. When she opened it, she was obviously shaken but assured Jimmy she’s fine. It was a photo of her as Anika, the cleaning lady, with a note at the back that read, “New ad for the local paper. What do you think?” It was signed with an “R.”
