“Neighbours” recap

On Wednesday, Xanthe shared Brooke’s note with Gary and Sheila, who tried to cheer up the young girl. Sheila’s determined to have the best Christmas ever for the Cannings, even if they have to face up to the neighbours and come clean about Brooke’s jewellry scam. Sheila told Lauren, who was thankfully forgiving. However, Karl wasn’t too understanding – he completely lost it over Brooke’s deception. Later, Gary overheard Karl telling Ben that he shouldn’t have trusted the Cannings.

Kathy arrived earlier for the wedding, surprising Lauren. Kathy gave Lauren a “something old and something borrowed” gift – a piece of flower from her wedding bouquet. Lauren teased her mum for being too sentimental and told Kathy that Lou missed her, hoping her parents would get back together.

Elly confronted Angus about his kiss when he helped her to her room. Angus begged Elly to keep it a secret and not complicate things for both of them. Later, however, Elly decided to open up to Susan about the incident. When Susan grilled Angus about it, he had no choice but to confess the truth. Elly then told Susan that Angus also tricked her during Halloween dance to kiss her, too. Susan’s beside herself – she can’t believe the two kept it a secret from her all this time, considering it’s already a subject for police investigation. She and Angus had to go back to the police station and report the developments of the case. There, Angus revealed everything, including his feelings for Elly since the beginning.

Later, Susan and Angus were asked back to the station, along with Elly. Mark’s boss told Angus that he could be charged with assault but only if Elly wanted to pursue the case. At home, Elly clarified with Angus whether he understood that what he did was wrong, and he seemed to have recognised that he cross the line. Elly then decided not to press charges, but told Angus to learn from what happened. That night, Angus’ dad arrived to take him to Sydney. They talked about their troubled relationship and tried to set their differences aside. The next day, Angus said his goodbyes to Susan and Elly. Later that afternoon, as Elly was preparing for the Lauren and Brad’s wedding, she was surprised to see an unexpected visitor: Ned.
