Fans can’t wait to see actress Jennifer Esposito take on another cop role when she joins “NCIS” Season 14 this September.

Earlier this month, CBS released the storyline for the premiere episode of “NCIS” Season 14, and it looks like the “Blue Bloods” alum will already have her share of the limelight, along with fellow newbie Wilmer Valderrama. Esposito plays special agent Alexandra "Alex" Quinn, while Valderrama will appear as Nicholas "Nick" Torres).

On Facebook, Esposito received positive comments from loyal “NCIS” viewers. User Joanna Warhold wrote, “She was great on ‘Blue Bloods…’ can’t wait to see her with ‘NCIS’!!” Another, who goes by the name Donna Barr Krolewski, commented, “I’m looking forward to seeing what the new characters bring to the mix… I think they will all be fine. Yes we will always miss Ziva and Tony but it’s time to move on.”

Another, Susan Maxwell, shared, “I loved her on ‘Blue Bloods’ so I know she will be great on ‘NCIS.’ Love both these shows!!!!!” User Michelle Reames wrote, “I’m excited to see where they take these characters and how quickly they become part of the ‘NCIS’ family.” Amy Majdalani, on the other hand, preferred to be objective and commented, “I’m gonna miss Tony but I look forward to seeing how the new characters fit in. I don’t form an opinion on new characters until I have seen them in action.”

Last week, Esposito and Valderrama held a live Q&A on Facebook during the 2016 CBS TCAs to share what’s in store for the upcoming installment.

During the live Q&A, posted on the show’s official web site, Esposito revealed that her character and Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon) are no strangers to each other. “There’s some history… he knows her in the past,” the 43-year-old actress teased. She said that something happened in her character’s life that led her to teaching, and Gibbs came in to draw her back in the game. However, the “Blue Bloods” alum admitted that she’s “not sure yet” how the two are linked.

Based on the storyline released by CBS, Gibbs assigns Special Agent Quinn to shadow his team after rejecting eight agents she instructed and referred for the open agent position.

“NCIS” Season 14 airs on Sept. 20, 8/7c on CBS. Stay tuned for “NCIS” spoilers and updates.
