"NCIS" Season 13 spoilers in various reports have earlier confirmed the return of Jeanne Benoit (Scottie Thompson), who was recently seen in Episode 8, titled "Saviours." Meanwhile, CBS president Glenn Geller gave no hint regarding the possible return of Ziva David (Cote de Pablo). Since news broke that Tony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly) is leaving NCIS, fans of Tony and Ziva have been calling for a proper closure between the two beloved characters. Even Weatherly's mother seems to be hoping for the same thing.

Spoiler alert: This update contains "NCIS" Season 13 spoilers. This week's new episode is called, "Loose Cannons." It brings the series closer to its 300th episode, which is set to air on March 15.

"NCIS" Season 13, Episode 16 also brings back another familiar character, a new favourite of many, Doctor Cyril Taft (Jon Cryer). The new episode synopsis states Taft becomes instrumental to finding an important evidence in Gibbs' (Mark Harmon) case. Cryer and Harmon always have a good chemistry on screen as they portray their respective NCIS characters. It is possible for the writers to dig deeper into the friendship that was formed between the two after Gibbs got shot overseas in the Season 12 finale.

"Dinozzo pays Jeanne Benoit a visit as he chases a lead involving doctors in Sudan," reads the second part of the CBS synopsis. This visit is drawing flak from Tiva (Tony and Ziva) fans who fear Weatherly's exit will be tied up to Jeanne instead of Ziva. This week's new episode is expected to give more clues on what happens next to Tony and Jeanne (who, incidentally, is married as of NCIS 13x8). Fans are hoping that somehow, this new story with Jeanne could lead to a Tony-Ziva reunion.

On Twitter, Weatherly even shared with fans that his mother asked him if he would exit NCIS with Ziva. The tweet came in early January, around the same time when Geller said there did not seem to be any plans (yet) for Cote de Pablo to return as Ziva David. The tweet was liked and shared by thousands of his followers.

Geller made the announcement at the Television Critics Association 2016 press conference in January. In the same event, Geller confirmed the writers were still in the planning stage when it comes to the exit of Tony DiNozzo. "Not currently" was the phrase Geller chose when reporters asked if there were plans to bring back Ziva David for DiNozzo's final moments in the CBS drama.

Why is Michael Weatherly leaving NCIS? Geller said Weatherly made a "creative" decision. The network boss said he understands the actor's decision and he wishes him well. In response to a fan on Twitter, Weatherly revealed his last day on NCIS sets is April 28.

In one of the more recent episodes of "NCIS" Season 13, DiNozzo has revealed to Tim McGee (Sean Murray) that he and ATF Agent Zoe (Marisol Nichols) have broken up. This coincides with the separation of Ellie Bishop (Emily Wickersham) and Jake Malloy (Jamie Bamber). DiNozzo then tells McGee to cherish his girlfriend and live-in partner, Delilah (Margo Harshman). DiNozzo was particularly melancholic in this episode, convincing some fans that he is in a state of longing for some real love. Is this the reason why he's visiting Jeanne in Sudan? Viewers might will find out what happens next in "NCIS" Season 13, Episode 16.
