NCIS Season 12 spoilers are surfacing slowly as filming has begun. The premiere episode's air date has been set, too. Show boss Gary Glasberg has recently hinted at a new love story for Tony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly). Some fans see it as a sign that Cote de Pablo's Ziva David is probably not coming back. Still, hope remains.

Speaking to TVLine about NCIS Season 12, executive producer Gary Glasberg said a new love interest is coming Tony DiNozzo's way.

"He went through a lot last year emotionally and tried to deal with Ziva's (Cote de Pablo) departure as he could," Glasberg said. This tells many fans that it is time to give up hoping for a happy Tiva ending. However, Glasberg earlier said "(i)f Tony's in a personal relationship," it is only natural for him to talk to Ziva about it. This "talk" might still happen in NCIS Season 12.

Some avid Tiva fans are not buying the Tony-is-moving-on-from-Ziva story. It remains to be seen whether the manner by which the new love story unfolds in NCIS 12 would convince fans this is only natural.

"I'm just saying the Tony DiNozzo who searched the world for months just to find Ziva David... would know all he wanted was just waiting for him," says this fan-posted NCIS Tiva insight on Tumblr.

"Stop looking, @CBS I have already found Mrs Right for Tony DiNozzo on #NCIS: #Ziva David," says another fan on Twitter.

""We'll be mature about it and handle it properly, and Michael's excited about it," Glasberg reassured TVLine, as if asking Tiva fans to trust the NCIS Season 12 showrunners.

NCIS New Orleans to Have Michael Weatherly, Pauley Perrette, and David McCallum

Meanwhile, DiNozzo is expected to show up in "NCIS: New Orleans," which has been approved by CBS. Speaking at the Television Critics Association's summer press tour, Glasberg said DiNozzo, Sciuto (Pauley Perrette) and Ducky (David McCallum) are set to appear in the latest spin-off.

"As for when and how often, there's a lot that goes into planning and schedules and making sure Mark [Mark Harmon, who portrays Leroy Jethro Gibbs] is here with NCIS but we'll keep the balls in the air and make it work as well as we can," Glasberg was quoted as saying in this Hollywood Reporter update.

Rob Kerkovich ("Chasing Life") is the latest actor to join the series regulars of NCIS New Orleans. Zoe McLellan, CCH Pounder and Lucas Black are the original cast in the backdoor pilot, which was seen in NCIS Season 11, Episodes 18 and 19 ("Crescent City").

NCIS Season 12 premieres on Sept. 23 on CBS. It shares the same air date as the official NCIS New Orleans debut in a back-to-back block, THR reported. Many Tiva fans remain hopeful that the next spoilers would include at least a visit by Cote de Pablo's Ziva David.
