Zoe McLellan, who portrayed the role of NCIS Special Agent Meredith Brody, is not a part of “NCIS: New Orleans” Season 3. The show’s new cast member is Vanessa Ferlito, who will play the role of an FBI agent.

TV Actress Exit: Zoe McLellan leaves ‘NCIS: New Orleans’

According to TV Line, McLellan’s departure is a creative decision linked to her character’s failed romance with Homeland Security John Russo (Ivan Sergei).

Agent Brody eventually saves the day in the “NCIS: New Orleans” Season 2 finale (“Sleeping with the Enemy”). Still, her judgment has already been marred in the eyes of her superiors. For his part, team head Agent Dwayne Pride (Scott Bakula) seems to hold no grudges against Brody, even as her dating history almost got him killed.

In connection to Brody’s exit, a new character is coming in. Vanessa Ferlito from “Graceland” and “Spider-Man 2” is set to join the “NCIS: New Orleans” cast from the premiere episode of the third season. Ferlito has been confirmed to be a series regular.

Ferlito gets introduced in the “NCIS: New Orleans” Season 3 premiere as a special agent from the FBI. Her character is “sexy, tough and acerbic,” according to TV Line.
