“NCIS: Los Angeles” Season 8, Episode 8 (“Parallel Resistors”) airs Nov. 13, Sunday, on CBS. In this week’s new episode, Kensi Blye (Daniela Ruah) and Marty Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) continue to cope with the challenge they are facing as a result of her spinal injury. In the previous episode, Kensi breaks Deeks' heart after he asked an important question. Meanwhile, Owen Granger (Miguel Ferrer) is seeing doctors.

Spoiler alert: This update contains “NCIS: Los Angeles” Season 8 spoilers. This is a warning for readers who have not watched NCIS LA 8x7 (“Crazy Train”).

‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ Season 8: Kensi Blye and Marty Deeks

In the previous episode, Deeks proposes to Kensi moments after she injured herself while trying to stand up on her own. Kensi finally sees the ring and says it’s beautiful. However, she wheels off after saying she does not want to get Marty into an unfair situation.

Deeks has been struggling between caring for Kensi and doing his job at NCIS Los Angeles. Owen Granger and Hetty Lange (Linda Hunt) have been supportive and understanding, offering him a break from NCIS. However, Deeks has been feeling like he has no idea how to help Kensi now that she is the depths of self-pity and all kinds of fear.

‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ Season 8: Owen Granger is sick

Meanwhile, someone else in the NCIS Los Angeles team is sick. But he is not ready to talk about it. Only one person knows how to make him talk about his health – Hetty.

Toward the end of NCIS LA 8x7, Hetty invites Owen for a drink. She lets him know that she is aware that there is something wrong with him. He does not beat around the bush, knowing there is no point in doing so.

While the word cancer was not dropped between Hetty and Granger, the characters’ dialogue convinced some fans that Granger may be dealing with cancer.

“You know, you may be able to fool the kids with this ‘cold’ business of yours. But I know you, and you look and sound worse than when we pulled you out of Laos,” Hetty says.

“Doctors! They're like lawyers with knives. They're still trying to figure this out. But it's probably just a lifetime of bad decisions-- smoking, drinking,” Owen replies.

In this week’s new episode, “NCIS: Los Angeles” Season 8 is expected to take Kensi and Deeks a little bit forward following the failed wedding proposal. Viewers could also find out more about Owen’s health issue.
