The New York Knicks welcomed their new boss Phil Jackson with a convincing 92-86 win over the the Eastern Conference's best team in the Indiana Pacers.

While Carmelo Anthony top-scored with 34 points, it was New York's effort on defense that will get the attention of the Zen Master. The Knicks held the Pacers to just 35 points in the first half and then held on in the second half for their seventh win in a row.

With the win, New York (28-40) is now just 4 games back off the Atlanta Hawks (31-35) for the eighth and final playoff spot in the East.
