Paul Pierce announced his arrival as a part of the Washington Wizards by poking Chicago Bulls big-man Joakim Noah on the forehead.

The 16-year veteran, who left long-time buddy Kevin Garnett in Brooklyn, got into a scuffle with the former Florida Gator standout, after appearing to have clotheslined the latter's teammate Jimmy Butler to prevent a breakaway attack.

Pierce kept on saying sweet nothings to Butler, who went near him after the foul was committed, which prompted Noah to step in and protect one of his guys.

After review, the referees did not find anything to merit a flagrant and the game continued as usual.

Meanwhile, Glen Rice Jr., who came off the bench, led the Wizards offensively with 18 points, en route to an 85-81 victory.

On the other hand, fellow reserve Nikola Mirotic was the high point man for Chicago, tallying 17 points.

Derrick Rose started but saw limited minutes, as Tom Thibodeau looks to pace his recovering superstar and get him in tip-top form.
