The free agency battle between Los Angeles Clippers and Dallas Mavericks highlighted by a series of emoji wars on Twitter has ended after unrestricted free agent Deandre Jordan decided to return to LA ending this summer’s signing fiasco, but leaving Mavs with a bad taste in their mouth whenever someone speaks about the coveted big man.

Mavericks forward Chandler Parsons was the lead recruiter in Dallas’ bid to acquire the 26-year-old centre. After Jordan snubbed Mavs’ offer, Parsons has grown irked of the big man. ESPN’s Tim MacMahon reported that Parsons said he was "shocked, very disappointed, frustrated, disrespected" about Jordan’s approach to the situation.

“This is something that I've never seen in my career, and I know that it doesn't happen very often. When a man gives you his word and an organization his word, especially when that organization put in so much effort and I walked him through this process and was very, very open and willing to work with him, it's just very unethical and disrespectful,” Parsons said as per ESPN.

The 26-year-old swingman also expressed his exasperation on the free agency mess. He said that Jordan should have handled the situation with class adding that it was “very unprofessional” of him to not answer Mavs owner Mark Cuban’s call and make the businessman sit and wait for nothing. Cuban flew to Houston on Wednesday, but never got a chance for a third meeting with Jordan.

The 56-year-old billionaire has decided to move on from the drama saying he wants to focus on the franchise’s future, but admitted that he still does not want to hear Jordan’s name in public according to reports of TMZ.com.

"There's nothing you can do about it. You think for a second, 'Is there anything I can change? You think for another second, 'What have I learned so I can do it differently next time?' And then you move forward and say ‘what are our options?’ We have this big tall German who's pretty good and he's still around. I think we've got great leadership, a great team and we're gonna keep on moving forward,” Cuban told reporters at the Presidential Leadership Scholars 2015 Graduation of Southern Methodist University in Dallas.

Jordan agreed to rejoin all-stars Chris Paul and Blake Griffin in the City of Angels in a four-year max deal worth an estimated amount of $88 million as per ESPN.com. A contingent of Clippers roster including head coach and basketball operations president Doc Rivers and owner Steve Ballmer camped at Jordan’s house, so they can wait for him to sign the contract when the moratorium is lifted. It was also reported that Paul, Griffin, Paul Pierce, and J.J. Redick was there to prevent Jordan from meeting or answering any calls from Cuban.

The high-flying big man reportedly agreed to a four-year $80 million max deal with the Mavs a week ago, but was not allowed to be official yet because of NBA’s moratorium that free agents will not be able to sign until July 9. The star centre was supposed to be Dallas’ future piece to build around with, but Jordan will now be remembered as the man who destroyed the franchise. Jordan’s return to the Clippers indicates an even better team next season and the move could certainly change the landscape of an already wild Western Conference.
