The upcoming “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End” will be the end of the series for the developer Naughty Dog. This comes after a statement made by the company’s co-director Neil Druckmann.

"We've been with this franchise for almost ten years now from inception all the way to this point. Luckily, we don't get too much time to dwell on that feeling because we're so busy, but every once in a while... you know?" stated Druckmann in an interview for the PlayStation Magazine as reported by Gamespot. The co-director also stated that the storyline of the game also changed significantly after he and Bruce Staley were brought to co-direct the “Uncharted” series.

Tears were shed among the crew during the game’s motion capture, as reported by GamesRadar. The franchise has sold millions of copies. The game developer might still reconsider the decision to end the “Uncharted” series . However, without the main character Nathan Drake, Naughty Dogs is not sure how to unfold the game.

A motion picture based on the game is also in the works with actors like Mark Wahlberg, Robert De Niro, Amy Adams and Scarlett Johansson to be a possibility in the movie. Sony announced that the movie would release on 2016 but later postponed it to June 30, 2017.

The upcoming game is scheduled to release on March 2016. Naughty Dog previously delayed the release to fine tune every aspect of the final game. Players, however, will be able to access the multiplayer beta of the game from December.
